Best way to make sure your long range artillery shots instead of sleeping is have one advanced airport spamming t2 scouts on patrol mode around your base, their radar is better than the T2 radar which does not detect over mountains and even hills. From the look of it, Nukes are good against anything that is not t3, and buildings. It says bot left, on the tooltip of Armaggedon, 5k dps, so i am guessing 1 nuke is 5k dmg, and they probably do not stack if they detonate on the same spot in a short period of time. Thor has 50k hp . As for hills, they are your friend, and enemy :D You build next to them so projectiles do not reach your buildings, and you can use them as firebase. Get like 20 t2 builder airplanes, make anti air first, then some pop up arty, radar/jammer, a shield, and after that you can spamm long range arty and whatever else you like. One Ragna consumes 60k energy income to be able to fire without stopping. So you would require +120k income lol. Also they can be used to fire blindly, at some point you will hit something and do a chain reaction.

Would you make a beginners guide to BAR? I've been playing it since your first youtube video showcased it and it's been super fun. It's like discovering RTS a second time since I never played the Supreme Commander or similar series. A basic build order and high level explanation of what I should focus on macro-wise would be nice. I get crushed by people who seem to have a plan which is fun but also a bit infuriating when I don't understand why their build order is the way it is. I'm trying to figure out what breakpoints they use when deciding to tech up to T2 etc. but it's hard from just watching replays. I find it really hard to balance metal and power production, and how many MEX vs. power generated per second I should aim for before building army, building construction turrets, teching up, when to go for T2 MEX's.

James is right. Trying things yourself is more fun than being taught. I know starcraft has a wiki with a list of specific build orders, but this game isn't that simple. I suggest practicing single player on just one map at a time and figuring out what build order is fastest for gathering resources. That's what I'm doing anyway. The game has a clock so you can note your resources at different times. It's generally balanced but everything depends on the map. There are a lot of reasons different maps require different build orders. For example wind speed, how much metal is available, and the terrain determine what you want to build. One metal map (speedmetal) gives 30 metal per mex (which means you basically have infinite metal). Because I obsessed over this a lot (not that I am good yet) I do have some general advice: * It's better to waste energy than not have enough so err on the side of caution. When you run out of energy, metal extractors will shut down. Definitely don't waste metal. You probably won't anyway. Depending on the map. * Wind is faster than solar in all the maps I've tried. Of course luck is a factor. They use 1/4 the metal of solar which produces 20 energy so in theory even at wind speed 5 you are breaking even (in terms of energy per metal) Solar might be good in the speedmetal map because it only uses metal. When you have a lot (maybe 20) invest your savings in energy storage. Energy demand won't be consistent anyway so you may as well. * Construction turrets are the cheapest source of build power that can assist plants and other things so build them right away. Or as soon as you have a construction unit and surplus resources. * Aircraft are a challenge to use on their own but a good investment in a map without a lot of metal. Construction aircraft are well suited for getting spread out metal veins. A large number of gunships are effective against most ground units, especially artillery (which can't hit them), but you will probably still want bots or vehicles for defense. You will need a few falcons to fight enemy aircraft. * Mathematically it's a good idea to try balance. It takes 3000 metal to build a tier 2 plant so maybe build 20 bots (about 3000 metal) before going to tier 2. I'm not really sure if the advantages of tier 2 units are necessarily that great anyway (compared to lots of tier 1 with construction turrets to aid). Obviously T2 mex and fusion are good reasons for tier 2 when you have the resources. It depends on how your opponent is pressuring you and you might not be able to go to tier 2, in which case they probably aren't there yet either. If you aren't being pressured and you scouted enough to feel safe, go to tier 2. Balance also should apply to economy vs military in any strategy game if you don't know what will attack you when. Obviously how to apply that is tricky and practice is necessary. I tend to err on the side of being greedy and ecoing. At least you know when you will attack and can focus on defense and growth in the mean time. * Also balance between defense (health) and offense (DPS). Perhaps a lot of what I'm saying is obvious to a starcraft player. I was thinking of examples but I haven't tested enough yet. Maybe centurion and (with good micro) pawns for dps. And crossbow for anti-air. You can also use a lot of gunships for DPS. The advantage is they can stack and they are harder to hit. * If you have construction aircraft, don't be afraid to over expand with undefended mex. They will earn back the metal spent in 25 seconds if they produce 2 metal per second. On the other hand constructors are valuable. * dragon's teeth aren't always useless. They take a lot of time to build considering how cheap they are though. * When you get to T2 bots, I love the Fatboy. It can soak a ton of damage and it has enough range to defeat most T1 defensive towers (except the gauntlet artillery) without coming into range. Obviously single player won't teach you to play multiplayer. But it's great to test things. You don't even need an opponent to test build order. If you are just testing your economic growth. Testing tactics can be done at any time. Economy comes first since you need an army before you deploy it. Also you can also try going against a lot of AIs at once when you have a plan. Wall of text complete. Better than dragons teeth. Get through that cortex! P.S. Single player cheat code: ALT MINUS Also ALT PLUS when you are bored. If you have any advice for me I'm curious too.

This is no pure tower defense. Stop using aircrafts, nuclear bombs and reviving enemy. I do tower defense by using towers to expand territory inch by inch. I spent like 6 hours to finish that one game. (Because Behemoth is just too OP, it is literally unstopable when only using towers to defend against it.)
