06:43 “I don’t want to get too nerdy with you” . No no DO carry on. This is the kind of journalism that elevates carfection beyond the influencers of the automotive world. This insight and understanding is something they can rarely provide. Asking the right questions, making manufacturers impart the right level of knowledge in front of the camera, and making it engaging for the viewers. Keep going because this is awesome content.

06:43 _"I don't want to get too nerdy with you"_ Always precedes the most interesting part of the video. Personally I find all that fascinating. The generative design process is really impressive and the final iteration reminds me of the sort of flower you'd see on a lily pad. I also love how Pirelli managed a work-around for rolling resistance, combined with Ian and the team's work relocating the main beams it just goes to show how important understanding the rule book is. Really enjoy these in-depth videos, and look forward to the upcoming review. P.S I do hope the new Mono makes it to Forza.

@@LorenzoClara97 just because he's into automotive engineering doesn't mean he HAS to stop playing forza. Forza is an amazing game, it's fun, aerodynamic DO effect cars, there is chassis flex if you know how to make t happen, and honestly depending on the game its either free roam and do whatever the hell you want, or race oriented where you HAVE to keep cars stock or in the same class. And it's a great gateway into racing games. Don't criticise based off of games, I love automotive engineering, I play forza, I don't like asseto or gran turismo, I can handle project cars, but the game doesn't effect my love and want to learn about automotive engineering, it's personal preference. And I respect that you don't like forza but you can't just go and tell someone to stop playing games, it's like telling a plane enthusiast to stop playing Ace Combat and play Microsoft Flight Simulator or Xplane. It's not cool at all. If they like Ace Combat and love planes, let them be. If they like forza and like cars, let them be. Be more accepting. That's what this world needs right now. Kindness, respect, accepting people.

And kudos too to Carfection for the simple yet beautiful presentation and intelligent questions with time allowed for the thoughtful and detailed responses.

Getting nerdy is the best part, and what keeps me and others coming back time and again. Thank you for the in-depth look and total escapism, for me, in strange times. Be safe guys!!
Great video. I love that Henry asks relevant questions and then most importantly allows the guest to speak. Rather the the presenter trying to get their opinions or impressions across.
It really IS a thing of beauty. When you watch an interview like this, you can appreciate the thought invested in balancing power, weight, packaging and aerodynamics. These guys are smart, dedicated and passionate people.
That was amazing. Henry and Mr Briggs smashed it. The engineering thought and application astonishing.
The BAC Mono is an insanely focused car but this video, an intelligent interviewer asking good questions, a consummate engineer answering them and an amazing comparison showing how improvements can be made on something that might have already been considered the pinnacle, thanks to engineering and advances in technology, if only every video aimed at the auto enthusiast could be so interesting. Well done.
As a preteen this is what I thought My go cart looked like. Now in year 70 I lust for this new ride.
Amazing video. This is the stuff and behind the scenes information you rarely get to see. Excellent work!
This is an incredible video. I'm studying to be a software engineer and what the BAC Mono guy said on understanding your system design priorities (i.e. low profile, keep things in-line with the driver, optimising towards that goal), really spoke to me. It feels super applicable as a mindset I can take to designing systems in my field. Great work!
Fantastic. Love these in-depth engineer / designer chats. More please.
These guys really understand design. A small story, my early car had an off the shelf fire extinguisher bracket that had fractured so I ordered a replacement. It came few days later and I was amazed to see a bespoke beautifully milled piece of aluminium complete with weight saving cutouts in the shape of the BAC logo. Remember this is a part few owners will ever see. That’s the kind of attention to detail you get from a really passionate designer. The beauty in the MONO goes all the way through it, amazing car.
Watching as he explains the manufacturing processes he can use opposed to mass manufacturers, using the newer printing techniques, give you a whole new insight to the BAC Mono. You realise by the time Henry gives you the price that for something so well designed, with so much thought going in to how to produce and save weight, this is something special. That price doesn't seem so high when compared to some of those supercars, for something that is going to give you a proper single seater experience.
Fabulous video and insight. No question for me that Henry's content is head and shoulders above anyone else's on KZread. Absolutely LOVE the Mono too. Think I may soon have to auction some body parts!
Oh hell yes, I love these things. Got to check one out in the metal a while back and the craftsmanship and attention to detail is absolutely stunning
