@@BombSponge I mean considering most normal sports cars are already overkill in terms of capability for the road then this one definitely goes a lot further, and less is definitely more fun, I'll agree with that. However it's still nice that there's an extreme performance version that showcases what a brand is capable of. The vast level of adjustability and especially down force stay impressive no matter how you look at it. It's easily the ugliest 992 911 but beauty wasn't what they were going after, still I have to say those hood vents are pretty atrocious.

@@Filipolis I appreciate the marketing/design exercise but it's not a race car unless a set of slicks fit in the trunk somewhere? It's a wannabe race car for wannabe race car drivers on the street where you can't race it. I guess if someone wants to believe they're in a race car so be it. No matter how much they spent on aero and engineering it's still running on road tyres and would need a lot of mods to get it race ready. The engineering I appreciate, the aero overkill for the street is cringe IMHO. Bit like the Senna but at least they marketed that as a track car.

Wrong, the reason they went with a central intercooler was for better airflow and more hp, he literally said the spoiler will also be completely active so that will also help it with the drag until you hit that new DTS button which will create a whole bunch of downforce that will let you take corners at speeds of 150mph. But yeah I mean it just means its better in every way over the previous generation, This car will easily be 300k with the mark ups in the US going crazy. And if I had the money, I would still buy it at that price without hesitation lol. This is a pure track car, it has 50hp more than the previous generation and beats the Ferrari for most HP per Valve which Honda had before them. This car I'm sure will be the last petrol GT3 we will see, but it is such a gem man its the best NA street legal track ready car we'll ever see and it makes me sad but it's a great way to go.

Andy Preuninger needs to get a 911 trim level named after him once he retires. He lead the charge that made Porsche the legendary brand that is today - all from the GT cars. No Automaker (BMW M, Audi RS, AMG, Aston, Mclaren, Lambo...) all expect Ferrari are far far behind or a joke

I'm not a fanboy of any of those brands, but I'm pretty sure even a 720S is faster than any recent Porsche around most tracks. So in what way would McLaren be far far behind? Edit: one concrete example is Laguna Seca: a 720S Spider is faster than a GT2 RS.

@@AQCE245 So the Nurburgring is the only track that counts? McLaren decided not to play that game (given how much it can be manipulated; if you respect those times, then you'd have to also accept that the AMG GT BS and the Lamborghini SVJ are faster than any stock Porsche. But why not look at non-manufacturer laps at other tracks around the world which are likely to get good drivers in a variety of cars? That's where you'll see McLaren pretty consistently faster than their rivals. This is not to take anything away from Porsche, but just to counter the claim that McLaren is far far behind. Pretty sure McLarens and Porsches are the most common "supercars" at track days, which says a lot about the brand and who's buying.

There were street legal models built on GTR platform. It maybe a few but I would argue DF is more because of wide body over standard Senna. How much DF I don't know but GTR was 1000kg. Street legal GTR models had smaller wing vs track car. DF could be similar or more to this GT3 RS.
