Neural Amp Modeler | Recreating rock and metal tones

Музыка

I'm severely impressed with the how versatile the open-source Neural Amp Modeler amp sim is, and with the quality of the free profiles uploaded on Tone Hunt. Here I use some of my favourites to try and get close to some rock, metal and punk tones I like.
00:00 Metallica - Shadows follow
00:11 AC/DC - Hell ain't a bad place to be
00:27 Guns N' Roses - Double talkin' jive
00:37 Entombed - Damn deal done
01:03 Smashing Pumpkins - Cherub rock
01:26 Sex Pistols - No feelings
01:41 The Cumshots - Sieg Christ
02:02 The Cult - Wild flower
02:21 Turnstile - Holiday
02:37 Dissection - Maha Kali
02:55 Buckcherry - Lit up
03:12 Metallica - Welcome home (Sanitarium)
03:26 Sacred Reich - Independent
03:44 The Darkness - Black shuck
03:59 Rocket from the Crypt - On a rope
04:16 The Ruts - Babylon's burning
04:29 The Hellacopters - (Gotta get some action) Now!
The settings for each riff are on the screen. I played around with the input control (kinda works like a gain knob) and the EQ, then tried different IR cab sims until it sounded close to the record (those I load on Pulse). Some riffs have reverb added, most don't.

Thanks! I'm not sure what IR I ended up using, I just downloaded a bunch from Tone Hunt and went through them for each riff (most are based on Marshall and Mesa style 4x12s). Rohbe's profile sound good with whatever you throw at them, though!

Hi. Great video. I have one question what audio interface do you use for NAM, and what latency do you have?

  • @deivitge

I have a focusrite scarlett solo, 1st generation. latency is fine, but it's sometimes buggy, I wouldn't really recommend

Thanks! Can't remember the cab, sorry, but it was a free IR I found on ToneHunt. I have to load the cab sims from other software, though, because I get heavy glitches if I put them in NAM.

sui modelli di Emil Rohbe perchè modifichi il livello di input di NAM? per suonare come se la tua chitarra entrasse dentro il vero amplificatore il livello di ingresso deve essere lo stesso

  • @deivitge

    @deivitge

    Жыл бұрын

If Google translate serves me right, you're asking why I'm changing the input level on NAM. Though it's not a gain control, it kinda acts like one: lowering the input gives a cleaner sound, and boosting it gives a hotter, more driven signal. Playing with it lets me approximate different gain levels to try to match the sound I'm going for.
