    Thanks for checking out the Block Letter pack and I am glad you enjoyed it. It is a personal favorite of mine, and had brand new caps installed as of 2 days before NAM capturing, everything else is bone stock. Definitely the best amp I have ever played, so it was an absolute joy to get those sounds NAM'ed 😎

    That’s the stuff I love to hear! Surprisingly a lot of my NAM usage hasn’t been to cruise tones, download and use. I love using it as a personal tone archiver once I get a good tone for a project. The tech is just so amazing that there’s so many ways to approach it. If/when I get my amps serviced to tip top condition it would make sense to do a pack like yours so I have captures of them at their peak, great idea! Thanks for all the packs, amazing theres people out there so dedicated and contributing tones to the masses, legend 🤜🤛

    The EQ is a post amp studio style EQ for cuts/boosts, not any particular amp tonestack FYI, so you can use any EQ plugin after NAM which will do the same thing and/or give you more control. Apparently the new Melda Guitar Architect has implemented his own build of NAM into his plugin with STEREO routing finally, but that is paid for software. But yes, hands down, Neural Amp Modeler is the highest quality amp capture/profile software out there right now, regardless of paid for or free.

    Thank you for playing chords. Soloing takes up *maybe* 10% of my playing time building a song with chords is the VAST majority of what I do so hearing how stacked strings sound and respond is the only thing I care about.

    4:41 Finally, I see someone using the GGD Goldstack for high gain stuff instead of GGD Cali. When it came out, I knew I had to try those Marshalls with high gain sound. :)

    The calis and the gold stacks compliment each other so well. And yeah I totally just saturated my ears on calis so freshened things up with goldstack only. So many awesome 90s/00s punk albums were made with Marshall cabs it just sounds like home to me 💪

    Hi, awesome video just getting into the world of NAM after getting a AXE One and AT5. How are ypu loading the IR? And csn it be found on Tonehunt? Sounds amazing! A video on how you built your chain in Reaper would be awesome, im trying to figure it out but my results vary. Keep up the great work! 🤘🏼

    I've been watching evolution of digital ampsims all the way from 2002 until today. Let's say the worst experiences were Pod 2.0 and Behringer V-Amp. Especially the cab simulations were mostly crappy. Amplitube 1.x and stuff. The freeware SimulAnalog guitar suite did the best job during those years. Even when Guitar rig came along. ReValver always sounded a bit off to me. Then Magix Vandal came into the game. Nice but still not quite right. I lost focus then, but in 2021/2022 I came around the free Amplitube 5 Mesa Triple Rectifier, which was big and clunky to my DAW but gave me a way more realistic experience than anything before. Then came Bogren Ampknob RevC which I bouoght and which was then one year later shredded out by Neural Amp Modeler with all it's power amp breakup goodness finally giving me the guitar tones I've been craving for during the last 20 years. Never owned a real tube amp btw. :D

    Yeah that almost sounds similar to my mileage. I had an old guitar port using podfarm which was decent back in the day. Then I remember seeing the eleven rack and axefx stuff. Used the axefx2 for ages grabbed the fm3 then upgraded interfaces and the works. All the modern amp sims are just so good it’s going to be crazy to see the next evolution in the next 5-10 years

    Hi @ampspedalspickups, how did you get such a wide sound on the clean tone at 1:35? Is it just double tracked or do you have some kind of processing going on? Sounds tight and wide and I'm longing to get that kind of sound for a track of mine. Thanks for your advice, in advance. Kind regards

  • @ampspedalspickups

    @ampspedalspickups

    It’s double tracked left/right and then I’ve got an instance of NAM on each track as well as the IR. If you want to accentuate the wideness maybe try slapping on a stereo delay/reverb on top of those left/right tracks. Make it very subtle so the delay is happening in the background and it will help. I don’t think I used delay reverb here, just right tracking and the basics!

    Sorry gotta ask, why do you find stereo easier to mix? I've found the complete opposite, that I'd always prefer mono sound, and then use send stereo reverb and delay afterwards. How do you usually do it?

  • @ampspedalspickups

    @ampspedalspickups

    When I have left and right mono rhythm tracks I have a group track ontop of them and they can feed into amp sims “in stereo”. I guess you could call it dual mono. Either way it’s a single amp sim processing left and right at the same time. That way you don’t need two manually update two instances with the same settings constantly

    So weird, jump into my discord if you want to take a look at things and work it out. I'm running a 3900x here and it holds up on big sessions inside reaper. There's a few things to try like checking buffers and if the latency happens on all NAM profiles or just a few select ones... also updating to the latest NAM release might help. It's a bit of a CPU hog but never been that much of an issue on my end.

    Rme interface to a pc. I used to use an audient id14mk2 and it was also fine. Can you reduce the buffer in your daw, maybe it’s too high? If you join the discord I’ve got linked in the video it might help figure it out.. the latency shouldn’t be an issue in general, microscopic stuff. If it’s big and noticeable then something is probably off

    It’s a vst plugin so if the machine can run vst plugins it will physically load If there’s latency issues or crackling then that would have to do with the sound card and machines performance. Hard to say without testing but if the machine can run other modern plugins it will probably be ok with nam

    IR's make a big difference so if the overall sound is same same and youre using the same IR's, try and mix it up. Could also be the models/captures you're trying in NAM, maybe things aren't dialled in to your taste. I personally use captures as my own backups and when I A/B the real amps to the captures they are 99% accurate. I have no complaints about the technology in general, but I can see how cruising for captures to just play around can be fatiguing. If you ever get the chance to dial in your own amps / amp sims and then make a copy in NAM I think you'll be pretty damn impressed with the results!
