I've watched quite a few of these women's Euro Quilifiers and the very same criticism applies to every single match I've seen so far: For the love of all that's wonderful, practice, practice, PRACTICE getting your shots-on-goal DOWN - even by 1 meter! - and your score-line will be 10X as high! I mean, COME ON! Look at the blessed slo-mo replays: ALL the shots on goal are hit UNDER the ball instead of STRAIGHT INTO IT! Strive like a demoness to hit the ball square-on and watch the goals pile up! I repeat: PRACTICE!!!

Is there anything wrong? Real Madrid made 22 shots and had no goals. At least, Dutch shooting shots are still more dangerous than kicks straight into the stands.

Why is she retired? because you. Most fans like you. National players have too much pressure. She has no freedom; she can't even go out for coffee with her parents. Besides, the expectations are too great. If she scores, that's her responsibility. If she didn't score, she had a bad match. Too much criticism for key players like Lieke, Viv, Jill, Van De Donk, and Beerensteyn.

Look Messi, he had the biggest world pressure and mostly from his own country for lack of trophies with his absolute despite won everything outside that, he had to wait until their 35 years old to win the american cup and the world cup. But pressure is not enough to counter the satisfaction of score or make a good play for your country and receive the chanting from all your fans. That is why I do not buy that theory. Maybe she has issues with the technical team and authorities of her absolute. But Spanish players had way way more issues with their teams, but they keep fighting until their DT and the president of their federation got fired. I can understand many different reasons on why she may decided to retire. I just did not like the expression of her husband, it does not seem to fit with the expression that anyone in his shoes would have for the same circumstance, with a complete lack of empathy.
