Nerf/Hasbro M41A from Aliens! Let's check it out!

You know, there aren't too many things that get a guy like me excited these days...but cool pieces of kit from the Alien franchise are one of those things. I have always wanted a pulse rifle, but real ones are damn near impossible to find unless you build one yourself (which is incredibly complex and cost prohibitive). When Hasbro partnered with Nerf to make a foam dart firing replica of the iconic Armat Battlefield Systems M41A, I knew I had to get my hands on one. After waiting for over a week for FedEx to get their crap together and deliver this thing to me, it finally showed up...and I'm pretty impressed!
All told, this is a solid replica and a great throwback to the original. They clearly took some unneeded creative license with the logos and especially the paint job, but that's ok. I'm going to do my best to take this thing from an obvious toy, to a very close match to the real hero props from the movies. It won't be perfect, but movie prop replicas typically never are - because the props themselves are imperfect!
This should be a fun one, so make sure to like and subscribe to stay up to date on the progress!

I'm with you in that the LV-426 stamp has nothing to do in that box, but given how the W-Y corp has (in Alien's canon) its tendrils in every part of the gvernment, including that they basically finance the Colonial Marines, a "headcanon for amusement value" explanation of having a W-Y logo in the case might be a matter of it being "their own licensed copy of the weapon, cheaper -errr, more cost effective, than those actually made by ARMAT" (just like the many AR or AK platform clones you can find IRL nowadays). Well, the magazine base is different from the movies one and has the W-Y logo instead of the ARMAT one, anyways, so that joke actually works.

Nice video, I'll be watching your progress - I have this Weapon in it's unpainted state, I have my paints and things ready - I bought a Peq laser sight and some Grenades and a 6 slot holder which I'm mounting on the stock, I got a Blade Runner pistol which I'm painting first so I can watch you all the way before I begin...Stay Frosty!

Outstanding! Just to forewarn you, I'm moving pretty slowly on this one. In addition to some pretty insane work projects that just got dumped on me, I've been extremely sick with the flu for nearly a week now. It's mostly upper-respiratory, so being anywhere around paint/chemicals would wreak havoc on my lungs, even with a respirator. I appreciate you watching though, and I will definitely try to move forward with this once I'm feeling better. Good luck with the blade runner pistol, I'm sure it'll turn out great!

@@AllThingsMech Get well soon mate, stay away from them fumes for sure, I'm not taking mine apart, just sand, primer, black and green with masking, also, I'm just applying Pewter 'Rub n Buff' for weathering before clearcoat and the wall mounting...but very interested in how yours turns out with the metallic under-layer approach!
