Neighbors say squatters are bringing drugs, prostitution to their neighborhood
Neighbors said a non-descript house at the end of their street sat empty for decades. But a few months ago, that all changed.
Today, the home in the 3300 block of Dale Street in North Park has several residents. Neighbors believe they're squatters that are up to no good.
“It's horrifying that grandmas can't walk their grandchildren down to Jack in the Box for an afternoon milkshake,” said North Park resident Maureen Stavas.
She says she saw a man bringing what appeared to be an underaged girl into the home and when she went to take a closer look, she says the man pulled out a weapon.

Looks like I'll be moving to a new home soon! I'll at least take care of it for the owner!
I kinda miss when squatters in SD in the 90s and 2000s use to be punk kids who would fix up the place and not be seen and would make a community veggie garden for the block. I rather deal with them then middle age tweakers dealing hard drugs and running around thinking they are Tupac.

Half the property in San Diego is owned by people who don't live there. It's an INVESTMENT. Blah, blah, housing shortage . . .There are a million undeveloped acres in Baja, but that doesn't have the same appeal.

You always hear police or DAs office telling citizens, “If you see something suspicious, give us a call.” Or “If something doesn’t look / feel right, call 911.” This is exactly what these concerned citizens did and they’re not getting any help? #SMH

No consequences is the way the criminal justice system works. Sure, you might HEAR or SEE "Let us know! Report crimes", but that's about as good as reporting spam on social media; the clicks go nowhere, and there's no actual code behind the click.
The owner owns NUMEROUS properties in San Diego County and probably very wealthy. Unfortunately, the owner is elderly and probably incapacitated. Someone must identify the substitute trustee and beneficiaries of his Family Trust and convince them to fix this problem.

Humans, people being trafficked right before this woman and her worry is walking past the house? Not the children being used like Kleenex? I hope these victims of sexual abuse, slavery, forced labor, mules and god knows what else are not too much of an inconvenience.

Only so much a city can do to home owners like this unfortunatly. As long as the home owner pays property tax there is very little the city can do. Unfair that wealth people can buy a property that they don't use, well I guess that's freedom and capitalism. The neighbors are committing crimes by spray painting and vandalizing the house.

When I was in California I was working and homeless with children and couldn’t afford a house because of high rent prices. But you have homes and people like this that get to live and stay in a house in a nice neighborhood. 😢
Dangerous to put someone's full name out there! I quickly found him, he is 88 years old and found lots of different residences that he owns. This gives people the opportunity to go squat in other homes. I would say if no one has even seen the owner in some time, that he is either dead or at least a wellness check needs to be done. Now the Guy with a machete... sounds like someone from across the border... and under age girls trafficking you're looking at a somewhat organized operation. A task force should start surveilling!
