Love weeping water , great People

Stroll down memory lane. I mainly grew up in Omaha, but spent a few of my late teenage years in Cass county between Weeping Water & Beaver Lake. Ive since lived in various parts of Arizona & Florida. I moved back to that area Sioux City Iowa in 2013 for a year just cuz I got kinda homesick & wanted to experience that midwestern nostalgia (changing of the seasons, parks, widlife, culture, chill vibes, etc...) realized everywhere is pretty much the same just different weather so I moved back down to Florida. I used to hate it here but after moving away & coming back it made me appreciate it more. My dream is to retire in a small town community somewhere up north though.

Murdock is where I got my Rottie from. VERY nice people.

Beautiful area.

I know people all over Nebraska , Elmwood , plus many more.

Interesting fact: Weeping Water is the limestone capitol of the world. They had these huge rock quarries limestone deposits like little swimming holes & cliffs you could jump or dive off & a labyrinth of underwater caves to really test your swimming skills. Good times.

I had a brother and great aunt who used to live in WW. I also used to take my dog to the groomers there 5+ years ago. I grew up in Cass County. Loved it, but real estate prices are kinda outrageous there anymore and are still going up.

$259,000 is so cheap compared to West coast and other areas. In San Diego county it is around $800,00 median price. Lincoln is my hometown. I wonder what it is there.

That price would be ok if it was in a town that was on the upward swing economically. Unfortunately none of the towns he highlighted in this video are on that level. Unless it’s a brand new build, that’s a steep price to pay for a home where you have to commute everywhere.

@@BrendaD72I grew up in Cass County. Loved living 20-30 mins from Bellevue/Omaha, but I agree. Home prices are getting a bit crazy there for even the older homes.

@@allysonaa5730 I live over the river in Iowa now, and the cost of rent in our little town is crazy. I’m thankful we aren’t in that position. Everyone wants to be close enough to the bigger cities but still have quiet, and landlords/builders are profiting from that.

Bess Street Aldrich was a woman…not a man. 😂 She was an author. In Murdock, the old house that was looking like it was going to fall down…family owned that house and I lived in it as a small child. It was originally a hotel waaaay back. At one point, my grandfather owned a business in town and most of my father’s side lived there. It makes me sad to see how the town has closed up over the years.

Thank you for watching! Also Murdock was very nice, all of the places in the video I liked very much. Just in comparison it wasn’t as good as the other 2 I visited

Changed how? It’s a shell of the town it was when I was a kid. Elmwood too. Too many people moving away and not enough businesses to keep them going.
