I was born and raised in Nebraska and wouldn’t want to live anywhere else. The weather is a bit extreme but we Nebraskans deal with it. Our state is beautiful and I hope our way of life never changes.

Californians flooding in now has changed that. Prices have been skyrocketing since 2018 and have really zoomed up post Covid. Suburban sprawl has been changing all the small towns near Lincoln and Omaha and almost none of the original residents can afford the new rents and prices.
I moved to Nebraska from Indiana. Glad I did
This town has great People and Family of mine. Love this Town.
Born and raised in Omaha!! You made me laugh with the "Red bird" comment in Yutan, those my friend are Cardinals!! Yes like the baseball team 😂😅🤣
Sorry from Nebraska but you might want to check your math on Prague. Not from that area but with white people at 96.8 then Hispanic at 2.2 percent, and Native Americans at .6 percent. That puts you at 99.6 percent of people. Where are the rest? Loved it when in Yutan you drove by the fire station had like 4/5 bay doors and you assumed the old antique outside is what they used. Haven't had a good laugh like that in a while! Thank you. Oh and if your wondering where everyone is at while your driving around, they're probably at work. Yes that was Bo Pelini on the side of that building doesn't surprise me if you don't like football if this is what you do on your spare time. Best thing you could have done is thrown an application in at any one of those businesses you drove by.
Our town in southeastern Nebraska is booming we are 25 miles south of Omaha and population of about 8000 and we are doing fine. As a matter of fact we are growing they built new subdivisions on the edge of town so it not all of Nebraska that is dying. I am a transplant to Nebraska and I love it here my wife was born here I have lived in big cities and would not go back ever.

That sounds a lot like Plattsmouth. I wish he would’ve done a video of it. I grew up there and still have family/friends who live there. It was the best town growing up.
Don't make fun of our small town bars because more Fundraising have been done out of the bar you passed by.
The church parking lot you are sitting in has a food bank there the first Saturday of the month. My property assessment was raised $50,000 this year. I have friends whose property value was raised $100,000. It used to be more affordable than it is now.

Yikes!
I was just in Wahoo today. You COMPLETELY missed the MAJORITY of the coummunity. There newer housing both north south and west of the older downtown area. Wahoo has suburban subdivision like satellite communities all over the USA. There is a LARGE recreational lake on the north side of town that you completely ignored.
Yutan is about 50 minutes from downtown Omaha
Nice video. I love that big and beautiful Catholic church. It has fascinating European look.

Thanks for watching! I agree it looked incredibly beautiful
Do you know Columbus? It's just an industrial town but the streets near downtown have really nice old houses. I'm guessing there was a lot of prosperity in the late 1800's-1920's. I'm always surprised at how big they are, they look like big farm houses but in the middle of town. Probably costs $1,000/month just to heat those things.

I live there now. It's not too bad and it's a growing city
the red brick school building in Weston is the old public school it was used in its hight as a high school in the 20’s -60’s then it was used just as an elementary school in the 80’s when I attended there and not long after that it became abandoned until a private owner purchased it for some purpose, that was his bus parked near it. The Catholic Church has an elementary school there that I think is still in use, the white house you drove by that you said was nice with the low porch and thin white columns on the porch is owned and supported by the Catholic Church for its clergy, which is now I think the only organization there that still brings money into its facilities except for the government buildings. small villages like these are mostly populated by people in their 50’s and older, the boomer generation will be gone in 20 more years, areas like this will be mostly abandoned soon unless younger people move in to fill the gap. I grew up up in two of the towns you featured
Used to live or go to school in these towns. Weston public school 103 I went to school at even. 😊

I'm in Indiana right now but I want to retire in small town USA in the central part of the country, specifically Kansas or Nebraska. This is the type and size of town I'd love to retire to, and trust me, I'm looking. If anyone has any suggestions I'm all ears. Thanks.

Where I live in Nebraska the court house, grocery store, city hall, post office, smoke house, 3 bars, are within walking distance. The town in Wilber Nebraska. I moved from Indiana. Best decision I made. I’m retired too.
We're good here. Don't need to viewed as quaint zoo animals. Unmatched quality of life.
Dis mf is gonna go on and just cruise yutan and not even hit the blunt once??? Dah FAQ?
This is an option for many people looking for a less expensive place to live. Not sure about the job situation for people but if it is close to Omaha it would be an option. As a gay man, you would not catch me in that town or state. Probably better suited for white heterosexual Christian types.

Incorrect. No one cares you’re gay. One of the very first gay pride parades was in Omaha Nebraska. Please stop being heterophobic.

That is a really stupid and racist comment
How about fixing your own states instead of moving here and ruining ours.
No reason to visit, and the property taxes are criminal. 900 million in lottery funds every year. Wheres that money going? Roads are the worst in country. Stay away.
