Take a tour on Highway 77 in Nebraska to the town of Mead, population 628.
Mead is located 30 miles west of Omaha. Mead was first called Saunders, and under the latter name was platted in 1877 when the railroad was extended to that point. It was renamed in 1880, likely for a Union Pacific railroad official.
