You may have well just set fire to your thousand dollars rather than spend it on a first gen Leaf! No thermal management to keep the battery “healthy”. You realize that the the best charging network standard (Tesla )has been adopted by most auto makers. No need to obsess about the other charging providers, they are going bankrupt. A hybrid is a waste of resources, plus you end up dragging an internal combustion engine (weight) and , if you are like most hybrid owners, don’t even charge your battery( assuming it is a “plug-in” hybrid ). Recent studies have shown that the emissions of hybrids are much higher than people have been led to believe.

Even if you don't personally like Trump, it's imperative we get the Dems out of the White House, don't vote for RFK Jr., he can only win a couple of states at most, he'll never win the Electoral College but he might siphon off enough votes to keep both Trump and Biden from getting 270, and if the Dems get back control of the House before Nov. which is very possible, they'll vote to keep Joe in or whoever runs. Government needs to back _way_ down on EV subsidies and ICE regulation, allowing the market more room to drive (pun intended) direction. Fully-electric vehicles make a lot of sense for many urban commuters who mostly drive within range of their homes and use other modes of transportation for non-local travel. The ONLY currently ICE-dominated application for which EVs make sense would be construction vehicles (to eliminate their noise pollution and make jobsite communication less radio-dependent). Other than that, bicycles/scooters/skateboards/etc. are the biggest and most powerful application EV technology will ever have.

We drive an EV for three years now, mainly charge at home. Fully charged we can travel roughly 358 miles. If we happen to be out and about and need extra juice to make it home, we could go to any SuperCharger, or third party charger, and charge for THREE to FIVE minutes, gaining an additional 100 plus miles through fast charging… Three bucks for over one hundred miles of range for less than five minutes at a charger, we will never go back to petrol ever again… 🤔

The latest iterations of batteries (lfp) don’t use rare metals save for lithium. Lithium is not nearly as rare as many have been lead to believe. Turns out the United States has enormous lithium reserves in multiple locations. If youre really concerned about mining you should be interested in lowering demand for the most mined resource in the world. 7.4 billion tons of coal. Dirty. Inefficient. If you’re that concerned you ought to be promoting improving the grid and developing 5th gen nuclear power.

what a ridiculous video... "nearly stranded" the guy has a car with 25 miles an range. he would get more range out of an electric scooter. Getting a hybrid more of a joke than this video. The only reason there is a push to say are not ready for primetime is only Tesla and BYD (a Chinese EV maker) are able to make profits the cars they sell, everyone else loses money, so there has been an effort to discredit. Tesla has over 20,000 charges in the US and and any other car company can use their chargers with an adapter. You can take any route across the US you and you will never be stuck (unless you car only have a range if 25 miles). Hybrid is stupid, they are heavy, cost more so you might as well just go all gasoline.

The grid (generation, transmission, distribution) has NO ABILITY to supply even a fraction of vehicles switching to electric. Just 1 million EVs charging at night (7.2 kW x 1,000,000 = 7,200,000 kW or 7,200 MW). Since solar takes 5 acres/MW, that's 36,000 acres of solar (which produces ZERO MW at night when vehicles will be charging at home). That's also equal to 12 LARGE fossil fuel plants. Again, that's just 1 million vehicles. Now try millions and millions (CA has over 31 million vehicles and that's just one state). IMPOSSIBLE in 2030, 2050 or 2070.
