Thing is cybertruck and other Tesla vehicles has a "car wash mode" which I'm assuming the person might not have used if their warranty got voided. Things that car wash mode does is pressurize the battery pack to ensure no water gets in.

@notspm9157

Most owners likely already know and can get presented on a dashboard instead of mail. The mail is just a requirement by law. Also, the scenario in which it gets stuck at full throttle requires the accelerator pedal's glue to fail and the pedal to slide forward during full acceleration and then you would have to also not press the brakes at all. If you use the brakes it cuts throttle.

the thing is like the ultimate cumulation of everything dumb thats going on with EVs. the battery is way to small, it has issues with water, it has issues with what you clean the windshield with, its 5 years late to market with 1/2 is features gone missing, its got at least massive safety flaw. its like a major automaker who rushed a product out like Ford did with the pinto and chevy did with the vega back in the 70s...except this thing was unveiled like 7 years ago. 7 years ago there were no Electric trucks....now the Cyber truck is like number 5. GM has 2, Rivian 1, and ford 1. and all 4 of those other trucks are actually better. the silverado has almost twice the battery (and that battery was built to be serviced) is more adaptable, and costs less. Rivian hadn't even made an EV in 2017 and they beat Tesla to market with a truck.

@@TroySavary in your defense, I’m no EV expert. However, out of 99% of everything I owned, the product broke down seconds AFTET the warranty expired. Out of all the battery operated appliances I’ve owned (cell phones, cordless phones, power tools, vacuums, etc), the batteries always die at some point, so it’s not a question of if, but a question of when. In 1980 or 1981 I bought a new Datsun 4WD pickup, I think it was their first four-wheeler. I got a letter about a week later that they were all recalled. Until they installed the proper axle seals, parts available "in a few weeks," I could still drive it but my warranty was voided if I drove it off road, on muddy roads, on sand, or in the rain! For a 4WD truck!!! I called the dealer and asked if they would shrink-wrap the delicate little thing for me, but they didn't appreciate my question. BUT!! Now with custom wrapping commonplace, I predict wrapping CyberTrucks will be a great growth industry. Maybe the wraps can say "It ain't dirty, it's a Cyber." At least Clive Sinclair had the excuse of only having the battery tech available at that time.
BEST INTRO EVER!!! Also, Stainless steel really isn't "stainless". When something as simple as a pet water dish, rusts.... you know there's a problem. Thus why every vehicle has paint.
I wouldn't want to be seen dead in one.
I finally had a chance to go over a Tesla in great detail at a friend's salvage yard. The Tesla was written off by the insurance company for a reason that he didn't disclose to me stating "take a look at it and let me know why you think it was a write off ". At 1st I couldn't figure it out because it looked fine. I went over the entire vehicle in detail and was appalled by the substandard build quality. It is a piece of junk! The reason for the write off by the insurance company was due to minor damage from rear ending another car causing deformation of a panel behind the bumper which affected the electrical and forward portion of the battery. A normal ICE vehicle in this type of collision would have been easily repaired at minimal cost.

Plenty of hype but then that is what the EV crowd seem to be drawn to. If the stainless doesn't work because it is not of the right standard then paint it or wrap it. If the batteries don't last buy a petrol generator to sit on the rear bed and keep it running. If you can't wash it then perhaps a tube of silicon sealer might be a good idea as a Tesla spare!

I had one of these cybertrucks come into my shop the other day. The owner was hopeful I could repair a nail in the tire. Those things have MASSIVE tires, I hate to imagine what those tires cost, or exactly what it would require to get them off the rim. He said that after removing the tire and patching the hole, I would have to be careful to remount the tire in a very specific way, so that the pattern of the tire would exactly match the pattern on the rim. And then I would have to mount the plastic hubcap in a similar position. I looked underneath the car, trying to figure out how I could safely lift the car to get the tire off, and decided not to even attempt it. The owner drove away very disappointed. Looking back, I'm pretty sure that I made the right decision by not even attempting to fix his flat. We fix a lot of tires, but fixing one on this truck isn't worth the potential liability. I think these trucks are mostly for show, they don't seem very practical. They are a real eye catcher though......
Yep, am keen to hear more about the stainless-steel electric lemon known as the Cyber Truck.
The blah blah blah bit got me 😂😂 nice work ol'mate
Bahahahahahaha, the gift that keeps on giving.
Not a surprise, pretty early on they talked about how you had to be super careful how you cleaned the truck. If anything happened to it like Tree sap or bird droppings it had to be washed instantly or it would damage the panels etc. On the bright side for Tesla people talk so much about the exterior of the car very few people bother to complain how much it fails as a truck.
I think Elon’s best move ever was pretending he sent one of his cars into space.
