30:04 NCAA Championship Preview
SEMIINAL 1
Thursday, 3:30pm CT - LSU, Cal, Arkansas, Stanford
LSU - They have been runner-up to Oklahoma 4 times in the past decade.
Cal - Cal is the one team that holds up best with the naked eye.
Arkansas - If Cal or LSU has to count a fall, Arkansas has the scores to continue their gymnastics on ABC.
Stanford - The only unseeded team to advance to Championships.
SEMIINAL 2
Thursday, 8pm CT - Oklahoma, Florida, Utah, Alabama
Oklahoma - This is about legacy. The dynasty has already been established, but Oklahoma has never three-peated.
Florida - Last year, the Gators finished just 0.15 behind Oklahoma and the year prior 0.1125. Can they find those extra tenths this Championship?
Utah - For the 48th consecutive season the Utes are back at Nationals and so is Maile O’Keefe, the reigning all-around national champion and beam champion.
Alabama - Ranked in the top 10 on every event except floor, which ironically they set a program record on this season with a 49.750.

This season killed my love for college gymnastics. It had been building for years but this season struck the final blow. I can’t stand seeing one more college “compulsory” bar routine or another opening double tuck/closing double pike floor routine….and of course all of the issues about not taking appropriate deductions that you bring up regularly. College gymnastics was better in the 90’s than it is now.

This applies somewhat to elite level gymnastics. The standard repertoire consists of: double twisting yurchenko vaults, double twisting double tuck dismounts on bars, back handspring/layout/layout series on beam, and the same five acrobatic and dance skills on floor. Maybe the event broadcasts should prioritize spotlighting original programs, such as Kaylia Nemour on bars, Simone Biles on vault/floor, the Chinese on beam, and Ellie Black (on anything). It's hard differentiating between, say, the bars routines of Leanne Wong and Kayla DiCello.

I really want someone to go through OU’s record breaking competition at the BIG12 championships and rescore all of it according to the code and see if they *actually* broke the record lol

I’m from Oklahoma and sadly I agree. It breaks my heart but I agree.

Absolutely agree. Would love the original record-setting meet to be reviewed too though. Not saying it's the case but the benchmark might have been overscored too.

The thing is that it's not just about over scoring. It's that judges over score certain schools. The same routine from Oklahoma is gonna have a higher score than a routine from Iowa State. That's just fact and it's completely and totally unfair. I just don't get the point of watching since we all know who's gonna win anyways. Although I would love to see Cal or LSU win it I don't think that's gonna happen. Judges will make sure Oklahoma wins.

The way I'm so fed up with it I'm rooting for literally anybody as long as it's not Oklahoma

I don't understand NIL I thought it just allowed the Athletes to use their name to receive money from outside sources and end the schools unpaid fundraising using their name how does the school end up paying. School should be scholarships only and NIL should not end up interfering with their education.
