Who remembers Steph Curry passing Wilt to become all time leading scorer for the Warriors? It only took Curry something like 13 years with a lot of 3's. To pass Wilts 5 years. I don't care what era Wilt dominates in any era.

Wilt was basketball's Zeus, clearly the real GOAT. Still holding 72 NBA records 50 yrs after his retirement. He had all of Duncan's moves before Duncan with greater agility and strength. So yeah, prime Wilt could dominate in any era of basketball. Not to mention avg. 30 pts 28 rebs life-time against Russell. 72 records that are "shown" this doesn't even include the fact the NBA never kept track of or aknowledged blocks and steals as a stat but in his last 2-3 or 4 yearss a highly respected NBA statistician kept track of his blocks he averaged 8.8 blocks per game and half of that was after a massive knee surgery. he was seen blocking 26 shots against the pistons once, a televised game that is recorded and people saw on christmas one year he blocked 23. wilt would easily have every single blocking record known toman with maybe the remeaining few going to russell. . now add in the records for double doubles, triple doubles, quadruople doulbe s and quinitiple doubles to that

Wilt was so strong that Arnold had to ask him to stop coming to his gym because everyone would stop working out to watch. He used to bench 650 before games because that’s all the weights they had in the facility. Russell famously said, that Wilt had to hold back for fear of hurting his opponents. There has never been a player that compared to him. High jumper, hurdler, and in his late 40’s he was acknowledged as the greatest volleyball player in the world. Lebron is a physical phenomenon, but there are no words for Wilt except super human.

Well i am only 60, and my Uncles played street TEAM basketball in the 60s-70s, in my island Guam, most of them dead now, they be like 76+ age older if still alive. Everyone i know (and read/see on ESPN, Sports illustrated, Bleacher, forgot the 4th name), reported by "paid professionals writers/reporters said SHAQ is the MOST DOMINANT CENTER IN NBA HISTORY, and the thing is "i saw it" , and to include NBA COACHES said "they do NOT have an answer to BEAT SHAQ. But NOW watching this video, i just do not really know, but hearing Jabbar talk about Wilt is AMAZING. I know that Wilt only have 2 Rings, and many record breaking, BUT LETS FACE IT "RINGS and STATs are IMPORTANT" to be in "TOP 10 NBA GOAT" between over 75 years of NBA players, that is a lot of PLAYERS to compare against. You can NOT. ignor that pass 6-7 years, the NBA players are FASTER, QUICKER. HIGH FLYING ABOVE RIM!, SLAM DUNKING ACROBATIC MOVEs, and absolutely crazy amazing shooting abilities COMPARED to 60's. GSW Chef S. Curry is so small at only 6'4" Shooting Guard, is unquestionable the GOAT SHOOTER. Basketball as we know has always been a BIG TALL MAN GAME, but Air Mike, and NOW Chef Curry is changing the game,.NBA coaches are scatching thier brains how to BEAT THIS 3pt scoring threats by smaller/quicker players. So based on this video i am NOW looking at Wilt differently. Someone said Wilt had 4 MVPs ? What years if you know ? There are several fallacies about Wilt that often go unchallenged, one of which is that he 'never played anybody.' He played Bill Russel half a dozen times or more per season because the league was much smaller back then. And have we already forgotten about Nate Thurmond, another member of the 50th anniversary team? Ask Russ what he thinks about Nate Thurmond. Wilt also registered his career high single-game rebounding record (55 boards) against Russ. Beyond that, I'd also point out that Wilt was not the lumbering monster we see in his Laker years when he first joined the league. Before his stint with the Sixers, he was built more like Kareem was. Beyond all this, this business of saying he wouldn't be able to put up such numbers in today's game? Please, he'd have avoided putting on the bulk we saw him carry as a Laker because it wouldn't be the advantage it was back then. Granted Wilt didn't have Olajuwon's footwork/movement in space, but he ran like David Robinson (incidentally, Robinson in his prime? Awesome). Take a look at the Greek Freak and add three inches to his height. That would be Wilt in the modern NBA. Wilt would dominate again, period. Sorry, that's just facts. And one more thing. Show me someone who averaged 48.5 minutes per game for an entire season. Guess what. Never happened outside of Wilt. Deal with it.

I’m not taking anything away from Bill Russell but he had 8 hall of famers and arguably the best coach of all time , Red Auerbach. It’s like Michael Jordan in the 80’s. He didn’t have the supporting cast to play with or the coaching. As soon as pippen and Phil Jackson came, he won 6 in 7 years. It wasn’t until wilt had Jerry West he started winning .

@@donavonhoward1899 I think the case for Wilt, Russ and Kareem might be more readily made by presenting data on just how big a difference there was between them and the other players in that era. If these three presented numbers that were just complete outliers (and re: Wilt, that is demonstrably the case), then the argument is made. I'd also point out that if you bring these guys forward in time 40 years, they'd have developed at the same time modern players developed. Same techniques, KZread videos for training purposes, medical care, and their performance would have benefitted. That said, I do think Lebron (as annoying as he is) and Steph Curry would do well in any era, too, ditto Jordan.

The league was a joke back then, and while that's no fault of Wilt's it certainly hinders his place among the all-time greats who played in much better eras with much better competition. So having watched the NBA since the late 60's, my choice for the greatest is Wilt Chamberlain...

there was a time when Wilt would look like the Greek Freak, Magic Johnson, and Michael Jordan. He was far too skilled to play back then. Once he started getting older and slower... and Kareem could hook shot over him and block his shots, it was too late. Kareem started looking like a younger Wilt. But his early 20's the way he could get up and down the court... always get the ball no matter the situation and out run everyone... scoring at will. It left the world in AWE. We couldn't compute what the heck was going on. There wasn't enough court for him to even look normal out there.

For about 8 years, Wilt was both the best offensive and defensive player in the league. If blocks and steals were recorded in his era he would have at least one centuple double and a dozen quadruple doubles. He would be, by far, the leader in career blocks. There was nothing he didn’t do better than Shaq.

THANK YOU for doing a video on WIlt Chamberlain. I agree that the 80-90s are the best era, but two of the top 10 players are from the 60s and should be recognized. Learning more about Wilt over the past few years, he is in my top 2. Here is why: 1. He is easily one of the five best offensive players in NBA history, probably one of the two best. 2. He is easily one of the five best defensive players in NBA history. 3. The only player who I think joins him on both lists is Jordan. 4. He is easily one of the three most dominant players in NBA history, probably one of the two best. 5. The closest comparison post-merger is clearly Shaq. Wilt was so athletic that he blocked Kareem's sky hook at age 33. Shaq at 33 was in Miami, still dominant, but not as athletic as he was in Orlando. 6. His overall athletic ability, added to his height and wingspan, is unmatched. The Olympic motto is “Citius, Altius, Fortius”, "Faster, Higher, Stronger". With a fair way to score players in all three categories, his composite score would be dramatically separate from the next closest. 7. He is first in rebounds with Russell 10% behind him and Kareem 25% behind for the third spot. The things holding him back in the rankings: 1. He only played 13 full seasons (excluding his 12 games in 1969-70). And those were *full* seasons, averaging 79.5 games each, missing only 33 games combined in those 13 seasons. So he did not play as long as some other Top-10 players like Kareem, LeBron, or Kobe, but he is still 7th in points. So while he lacks the longevity of some, he definitely had the durability. 2. Blocks were not counted until after his last season playing. He would have needed to average less than 4 blocks/game to top that list, and watching the game footage which is available suggests he would shatter that. 3. Rings. He "only" had 2. The rest of my Top 10 are Michael, LeBron, Kareem, Russell, Magic, Bird, Duncan, Kobe, Shaq. If the Mt Rushmore of coaches is Red Auerbach, Phil Jackson, Pat Riley, and Gregg Popovich, every single other Top-10 player had one of these as his coach or exec. So rather than talking about Wilt's teams and Bill's teams, instead keep Wilt's teams the same and give him Phil Jackson as his coach for 7-8 years. In the 1960s, Bill one 9 rings and Wilt won the other one. I think with Phil Jackson as his coach, Wilt might have easily won 3-5 of the 10. With 4-6 total rings, added to everything else, I think it is pretty easy to say he is Top-2 or Top-1. 4. Attitude. See #3, having a Mt Rushmore head coach. Michael was all about the numbers, until he wasn't because of Jackson. Kobe was selfish, until he was manageably selfish. LeBron couldn't get over the hump until he signed with Pat Riley. Kareem only had one title, despite being the best (or one of two best with ABA-Dr J) in the 70s until he had Pat Riley as his asst / head coach. Sure, Wilt won with Riley too, but Riley the role player

TC the regular guy,any time someone throws Wilt some respect it's appreciated because Wilt was head and shoulders above anybody at any era, remember everyone Wilt was also young people remember him at the end of his career with the Lakers,Wilt played with the Harlem globetrotters at 18,and even thou he still holds many records that was a blue collar era and the teams were run much more disciplined so to a extent he still had the rein's on him,if it was today 😂😂😂😂😂 against the swiss cheese defense in his 10 year prime could have dropped a buck 20 on certain bad teams and 70 on the so called good teams and forget anybody out rebounding Wilt and your not coming into that paint or your going to pay so pretty much case closed, Jordan is a close second but Wilt is actually a better all around athlete, remember Jordan running down the court in the jam contest and taking off from the free throw line very impressive, but did u know they changed the ruling on fouls shots where you had to stay stationary behind the foul line because Wilt only needed two strides and would leap from foul line and drop it in again two different athletes, but when we talk about the GOAT of all sports from A to Z start with number 2 because number 1 is Secretariat that's the best athlete that ever existed and his sport is superior to man's sport because his competition is much tougher
