Next gen looks very good, but 8th gen will never be a slouch graphically because we had some real near photorealistic games the past generation, so it’s gonna be hard to top

@@iconicg7159 This^^^ I own a series x and it’s one of those things where like you really appreciate the added details, especially the rim for me, but in hindsight the console isn’t something I’d feel bad not having for a while. Like sure now that I’m here I don’t want to go back, but the cross generational gap is so close, you don’t feel like you’re truly missing out yet. Minus the load times. Those are insane.

Thank you for taking the time to put this together. This is the best PS5 comparison video on KZread atm. Excellent music too. One important thing to remember is that this is the first year games...compare NFL Gameday 97 to NFL Gameday 02 on the PlayStation. Huge upgrade. This shows HUGE potential for the future...it’s the subtleties, the lighting, the movement, the fine details...it looks amazing. Only gonna get better from here.

That Trae Young update just stands out as the most pronounced graphical leap. Though next gen lighting is the real winner here.

That’s because technology on PS5 really can’t go much farther as it did back in 2013 when PS4 dropped. At least give it 1-2 more years before we start seeing crazy improvements.

They forgot to add the option to be a douchebag and being able to take a knee during the national anthem.

1:39 the amount of polygons the PS5 has is incredible! The shading of the shoe makes the person look more grounded to the floor. 1:51 The amount of detail on the shirt, and the skin detail is aboslutely stunning. Altough the current gen has more subsurface light scattering through the skin, which looks sick. I donæt know why this is, but it just looks like a developers choise. I wont put more time stamps, but what I was most impressed with is the amount of polygons the PS5 could spew out, it really helped to immerse me into the game!

FACTs, I guess he got tired of people saying it looks the same and the detail he put into making the videos even with the rim backboard and basketball etc. Once you see them side by side you will see the current gen looks rather dull in comparison

I think past-gen looks just fine, don't buy a PS5 or Series X until they give you a real graphical reason too.

One main difference you can’t tell in yt is the sound and ambient effect. Next gen is much more real and can trigger you a bit excited when you start your career in MC. I have played both versions it’s really worth the price!

Best thing is the players used to skid a lot in older gen . Now on ps5 and xsx gen , they skid less .

They literally just picked what was going to be revamped tbh certain things in current gen aint needed to be tweaked to much i was really expecting everything to be game changing

I'm still missing the "built from the ground up" part of the game. the ps5 version looks like a fairly decent upgrade from the ps4 but nothing more. I've certainly haven't seen anything to justify a standard $70 game.

That is weird. Around 13 minutes in, 2 players in a row looked more detailed on current gen. I thought maybe the games got mixed up during editing but the crowd does look better on next gen so I'm not sure what happened there. Also a few players like Lonzo and Dwight Howard look damn near photo realistic on next gen, pretty impressive.

KZread compression and take a closer look realistic depth with realistic color lighting there's actually shadows being made from his eyebrows etc and the eyelashes look alot better the current gen doesn't have those features so you see the textures pop out more which is what makes it "look better"

i used to praise 2k sports for giving us a massive jump in quality every generation. but this gen, the jump in graphics quality is so small., im kinda expecting like a ps2 to ps3 difference

The era of night and day differences between generations is gone.

They look a lot more like the players on PS4 imo. Looks to me like they developed the art assets for current gen and retextured for next gen as an afterthought.

The improvements they keep on making are phenomenal. I feel like every-time I boot the game up it looks better each time. A major improvement from how it looked when it first came out. Now I’m seeing the power of the Xbox Series X . I’m impressed.

Basically they put 2K14 lighting back on next gen. By 2K27 they will remove lighting effect on PS5 and put it back on the PS6 version to make it look next gen.

My question is does the ps4 have a ssd hd in it or the regular HD? Because ssd makes it load 1000 times faster.
