It’s literally the same models just with different textures and lighting. 2K really halfassed this franchise man. You could instantly tell the graphical upgrade between ps3/ps4 & 360/one when 2k14 dropped

Yeah there were major difference with the transition to 2k14, but the player movements was still the same. Even until now, players move terrible and clunky. They gotta change that game engine exclusively for next gen.

Graphics are hitting a wall right now. We aren't going to see the crazy improvements we once did because games are started to actually look semi real now.

@Cull Obsidian Yea for me still nothing worth buying next Gen yet until all the upcoming other games come out. But this is not a huge jump in my opinion and most of the graphics go out he door when your actually playing.

The PS4 version is pretty sweet, but I still wish I had a PS5 - the textures definitely look cleaner and more realistic.

Also another difference between PS5 and PS4 is the heckling from the fans on Next Gen, and college, the college kids playing in the band and things like that. Also the interaction with NPCs. Other than that great comparisons. They know they could’ve updated the finals scene on PS4 though lol

Ps5 - focused more on character detail. Ps4 - better wardrobe and court graphics.

They both look good to me. Not a huge leap in graphics more on the side of lighting, shading and shadows for the 5. Im still happy with my PS4 pro. I would like the 5 for the faster load times. Nothing beats the PS3 all in one console.

From me a ps5 owner. Looking at it on a phone it doesn't seem like much of a difference but once you have the game infront of you you can see and feel the difference. With that being said current gen looks great as well especially when you play it from your ps5 on a good TV or monitor. Don't shit on current gen it's not a drop off like 2k14 ps4 vs ps3 was

nah fr cause i remember having 2K14 when it first came out on the 360. when i saw it on the xbox one and ps4, i was hella disappointed. with that being said, i believe 2K22 on current gen is pretty damn good.

Impressive what they were able to do for the PS4 version. But next gen is def better. Especially after playing it

You wanna know why its holding up? Because its literally copy and paste, the thing with 2K14 on PS3-PS4 they went in a whole DIFFERENT direction with how lighting/shadows were handled.Id still say 2K14 still looks better than 2K22 on PS5 but thats just IMO,

The biggest jump in technology was going from the 2 to the 3. Decent jump from the 3 to 4. Not enough to warrant getting a ps5 right now. Wait until they are in abundance and game prices drop.

I honestly think ps4 to 5 is a bigger jump than 3 was to 4. The devs still need to get their feet wet before they can push the new engines to their limits. Xbone/ ps4 turned me off of console gaming. They released the consoles too soon on ps4/xbone, just greed all around. That’s why it was the first generation of consoles to release an updated version that actually had a big impact on performance. Cause the first batch of them were trash that couldn’t even run games at 60fps even though that’s what they were marketed to perform at before launch. The only reason anyone should ever buy consoles ever is if scalping never stops for gaming pc hardware. Too bad consoles are getting scalped too even though the hardware they are using is already dated.

I just finally got my ps5 on Saturday had tbe ps4. GAMESTOP had a bundle sale. And I'm telling all. That it's a huge difference all around. The Ps5 is fire... Games feel different. The movements etc. It's not only the graphics it's the entire experience.

Yoooooo thanks for this! I bought the PS4 version cuz I didn’t think I would get the PS5. Then PlayStation Direct hit me up and picked me on the reserved list! Now I’m playing the PS4 version but gotta pay for full price for the PS5 upgrade smdh. Looks worth it to me…just gonna wait to see if there are any deals soon!

the 2k22 current gen face scans look a bit washed out (for certain players) hair is lighter. other than that, the next gen environment is much brighter, and you can see it on the court.

Also something I noticed but the jerseys in 2k21 and some of the tones almost looked bleached, so I'm glad they fixed that

Tho even if the my career is a bit different or better than 2k21 it will be good for me because I only play 2k for my career, no online nothing and even if their is addition of new stuff new features etc it's good for me. So in that prospective what do you think? Is my career better than 2k20? Because 2k20 was decent imo, 2k21 ps4/pc was garbage with nothing much after the prelude, so in that manner is 2k22 worth?

@@datrandomgeek5205 well I was in the same situation as you on pc lol, I can say mycareer is indeed better on 2k22 nxt gen. I also like playnow and mynba and can say 2k22 next gen is by far the best for that type of mode, graphics are better than any mod available too. Like idk if these people are blind but their is a clear difference in graphics when you play the game, 2k22 current is extremely dull and Grey. 2k22 current is basically 2k20 and 2k22 nxt gen is a whole different game that is a +10 is every category besides the basic gameplay mechanics. Honest opinion.

@@sayidhk2688 some of them are pretty much the same but some character models go from blank fuzzy blobs to lifelike looking player models. They’ll probably improve it even more by the next 2k but devs are likely still getting used to making ps5 games like they were in early ps4. Also, in person I bet with all the changes put together, it would look much crisper but it’s hard to see them in pictures

There is no way you sit there and think this looks the same. Also anyone who had upgraded to PS5 or Xbox X will tell you there is a HUGE difference. Especially when playing on a 4K or 8K TV/monitor. It’s so noticeable you can’t go back without noticing how much of a downgrade it is.
