@@babakpersian I won't argue with your experience, because I can't judge it. But I heard on several channels, mostly white Americans living in Germany, that they experienced scary stares in Germany as well. To Germans, this is a normal thing and they don't even realize it. Only knowing it and comparing it with other countries, it becomes obvious. Again, not arguing with you, just trying to make aware that it might be partly normal behavior and partly because of your skin color.

It's this kind of staring. Anyway Good luck 🤞

@@babakpersian I'd like to share a story with you: A white friend of mine was in the Berlin U-Bahn with her very dark skinned African boyfriend. It was summer and he wore a tank top, so you could see a lot of his skin. They were cuddling when they noticed an old German woman staring at them. They pretended not to notice it, so the woman kept staring for a couple of minutes. He gets more and more annoyed and finally asks her aggressively why she is staring. The old woman is shocked and stumbles "because... because you look so beautiful". It's really hard to tell sometimes, as smiling and being friendly to strangers (e.g. the way Americans are) is considered being superficial by Germans. Now, I am convinced that you get stares that are exactly what you think you are: Racist stares! But there are others that look similar but aren't. I don't dare guessing the amount, the real racist stares are bad enough and I understand that the other ones that aren't, but potentially could be, are annoying just the same. Anyway it's late, all best for you!
