Any warrior / sailor will bristle at the war pipes call to all hands on deck!! Great shanty played well.

Same with me, I get goosebumps everytime I hear bagpipe music..
Damn, when that bagpipe solo started I got the goosebumps! This version of that song is incredible. I love the energy of everyone on stage.

Exactly 👍👍👍 I'm usually not a huge fan of bagpipes, but this was absolutely the best use of that instrument I've heard in years. They sound amazing, powerful and bring a huge smile to my face. The guitar solo that follows is great too. Absolutely loved this performance ❤️

@@68MalKontent disagree man bagpipes are famous around the world , they kick ass , just like they did in the wellerman and many other beautiful songs to appreciate , I find it funny how people comment and don’t like ie bagpipes in the video but they watch it then comment and it literally sais it in the video headline.

Bagpipes date back to at least Nebuchadnezzar. Crazy… And I love ‘em.
Wah-haaaaa! This performance is freaking fantastic! The pipers just enhance it in a way I couldn't have imagined, and can't begin to describe how they move me. Thank you all!
Bagpipes are the second best instrument, next to the human voice. Just TRY to convince me otherwise.

Wellerman is definitely my favourite sea shanty. And the guitars and bagpipes make it even better. 😁

I must say i was a little bit diasspointet. i exceptet more backpipes. Check out the version Saltatio Mortis: kzread.info/dash/bejne/pGmAmcSFhdSterA.html This has much more backpipes in the song with only 1 backpipe player.

They have to be the strangest looking instrument you've ever seen, but bagpipes have such a unique and beautiful sound. Heaing the Weller man played on bagpipes actually gave me goosebumps. Such an awesome version!

Probably only a handful of people realize this is a NZ folk song from the 70's inspired from the Weller brothers (who hailed from England) and in 1831 founded a whaling station in the south island of NZ at the time. Rum was indeed inolved. lol Their employees became known as "wellerman".

In fact, the song is from New Zealand.. the wellermans was the whalers who fish on the shore, not in the ships

@@mayrameloquiroga9498 actually it was the surname. Weller brothers made a little delivery service to supply long sailing whaling ships. Similarity between names is coincidental. Wellermen were "Weller workers" that were providing supplies (like sugar, tea and rum in song) to whalers in order to prevent expensive docking of huge whaling ships before they were full.

It's weird. Scots, Swedes, Muricans, Brits and many other nationalities are singing Wellerman. But! This song originates from New Zealand and yet we don't hear Kiwis singing it. Maybe they are a bit shy?

My Great, great uncle was a captain of a Whaler out of Timaru in the mid 19th century. I'm a proud Pakeha South Islander. Due to political correctness in my country the so called indigenous population, may find this challenging,we are not encouraged to enjoy our culture.(which apparently doesn't exist). Yet the world sings one of our songs. Go figure.

@MultiMaxim2012 Yes, it is a sea shanty, and like most such thought up by sailors. Whalers who were based in the waters of southern New Zealand. The Wellerman is a supply ship from Sydney owned by the Wellerman company.
Great video! This is the best version of "Wellerman" I've ever heard.
