it should be made clear that during the playoffs as we’re down to 16 drivers fighting for a championship, then 12, 8, then 4, the rest of the 36 car field is still on the track participating in the races trying to win. they’re just ineligible to advance through the playoff grid and compete for a championship at that point

When I was like 8 years old, I always told my mom “when I grow up I want to become a nascar driver.” But I never driven anything at all nor did I ever do any research when I was young I mean tbh can’t really blame myself I was still young 😅 and didn’t even have a phone back then. Miss those days.

@Qiyzku I have a 4cyl, but that is nothing when all you got is local sponsors, and 1 Arca is like 50k without a sponsor or something like that. It is hard to go ANYWHERES in nascar or racing in general without huge cash.

i really hope this video blows the hell up. i've wanted you guys to take notes from f1's videos explaining the sport and this is a great start. coming from an 18-year fan, i want my fellow new peers to know what's going on!

I'm English and watch all types of sports, including nascar since last season. And I really do not like the playoffs. I get the whole American playoff culture, but it should be plain and simple, top driver wins the championship. Because it then deems every other position irrelevant if they're out the playoffs, and discourages fighting for every place when there's nothing to fight for

I, as an American, still barely understand the playoffs. A standard points system, like they used to have before 2004, is far easier to understand and more fair.

@@NASCARI live in Los Angeles and have turned my family ( of mostly basketball fans myself excluded ) into nascar fans , it all started with the Coca Cola 500 from last year it was on a Sunday and my dad was getting ready for church (11am )and he comes into my room to ask me what I’m watching I then tell him nascar as I explain it as a regular car going 500 miles an hour , then my little sister ask me the same question a few weeks later ( I was watching Darlington ) and I responded in kind and now ( for weirder or whackier ) they’ve become fans and I even turned my 80 year aunt into a fan

I'm 42 and just got into NASCAR two months ago when I started sim racing after realizing how strategically complicated it really is.

It’s my first time getting to know NASCAR so thanks for this vid :D

Juts started getting into Motorsports, recently became an F1 fan and now I’m looking to be a NASCAR Fan.

"Huh, that ain't racin'. That wasn't even a Sunday drive. There was 1 lap racin' as 500 of those. Everybody fightin' to move up, lap after lap, inside, outside, inches apart, never touchin'. Now that's racin'." That's what NASCAR used to be.

You obviously don't watch as the series races on road courses and street courses!! They literally had a race on the streets of Chicago this season. Plenty of right turns throughout the season, don't expose your ignorance on the internet!

I love everything about nascar except 1 thing the playoffs its auto racing not football no other racing series have it they have a season long points system even NASCAR owned IMSA has a seasons long points system

As a 30-year long Formula 1 fan I am really getting into NASCAR now especially with what is going on in Formula 1 with all the cheating and fixing etcetera

is it like Mario Kart but real life

Oval racing is and always will be real racing too, and it's much better once a person understands it. And many of the ovals Nascar races are astronomically better than many circuits (key word: _many._ NOT _all._ ).

6-7 road course/street races a year. Plus, there's such a difference in oval races that quite a few are equally as interesting in terms of either strategy or race product.

technically for me not yet it needs improvement NASCAR's benchmark is Indycar,IMSA,WEC in terms there own youtube channel as a whole But Full race Replay are the only thing what made the sport better than F1

It’s not nascar anymore! Stages suck and points system sucks. Nascar is supposed to be one continuous race from the first race to the last and whoever’s leading in points wins.

You're right it should still be a full season format I agree 100% but unfortunately they listened to a bunch of casuals instead of the true fans from the 70s 80s 90s and early 00s I started watching Nascar in the 90s so I'm a long time fan
