I’m Tajik and plov is national dish in Tajikistan and Uzbekistan. Also prepared in Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The legend is that Tamerlane (Timurlang) ordered his chef to come up with the dish with rice and meat which would keep his warriors full for days. So his chef prepared PLOV.

More of a plov/pilaf/pulav than a Chinese/East Asian style fried rice. Even though it is a cooking method practiced worldwide, the flavor pallet is 100% Mongolian.

The best of your channel has been waiting a long time for a new post to arrive 🤩🤩
this is the best food video i ever seen
At 2:33, you can see a cat. Traditionally, Mongolians never adopted cats, but it became super common in the modern times. But the catch is that, the cat is not theirs. Many nomadic families feed stray cats around the area in order to attract the cats and prevent mice infestation. When the stray cats become comfortable enough, they just casually walk into their homes to request food or water. They don't sleep inside their homes, rather outside or on top of the yurts. This also means the whole neighborhood feeds the cat. So the cat travels around the neighborhood, visit yurts it likes and hunts down the mice for them. When the people move away to their seasonal locations, the cats either stay or follow them. We don't adopt cats, the cats just live with us.
