Yes, agreed! Narga made me fall in love with MH, and I will never stop bragging of how meticulous to cut its tail in the old days, it was like a ritual every time I hunt Narga, LOL! *Unpopular opinion: old Narga moveset were one of the best back then (excluding the hitbox, duh), if you had synched move with Narga, you'd felt like dancing, and if you noticed it, Narga movement patterns was really unique as it would really hard to lure it to traps!

Yeah you touched on some points I should have gone over! The tail wounding before cutting was a tough part of fighting it and I remember that so well too!

My favorite part about Nargacuga is his iconic roar and jazzy soundtrack. Hearing his roar in all its high definition glory in Iceborne was enough to send a shiver down your spine. Lucent Nargacuga in Sunbreak is really cool, his triple backflip tail slam is awesome!

While technically I started my journey with MH in Freedom Unite, I quickly dropped it due to controls feeling clunky. Later, I decided to get myself MH World, which eased me into the franchise. Since then, I returned to earlier titles, like Freedom 1, Freedom Unite and Portable 3rd. Finishing up Low-Rank Village in FU, I was getting used to clunkiness of the older titles. And this is precisely why I dreaded my first encounter with Nargacuga. A monster fabled for it's speed in a game I often have trouble controlling my own character? Where hitboxes were so inaccurate you wonder half the time what even hit you? This couldn't end well, or so I thought. To my surprise, Narga speed, while definitely higher than your avarege 2nd gen monster, wasn't as big of a deal as I thought it would be. I could keep up with him no problem, being an SnS user helped too. However what completely threw me off guard, was how accurate hitboxes on this guy were. I could dodge through his tail spin. Reliably. Something I still can't do with most other wyverns in FU. During some fights, I hardly got hit at all. And that's not to say Narga is easy, mind you. After my FU playthrough, I started Portable 3rd and I was pleasantly surprised again. Not by Narga himself, but how polished every monster felt. It's almost like FU Nargacuga was a glimpse into the 3rd gen, at least as far as quality and polish are concerned. I absolutely adore this monster, and so far, having finished Iceborne, he's still my definite number 1 favourite.

Yeah, controls on the PSP were the biggest issues with the older titles haha. That's where many gamers developed the claw technique to use the d pad and control stick at the same. I just instinctively did that as a kid but still do it to this day with titles like Dark Souls. But yeah Nargas speed isn't stupidly crazy. BUT definitely a step up from the other monsters!

Narga...yeah, a classic monster. He gave me fits in Iceborne when I was bow main. As SnS main now, I enjoy him much better. I can match his speed and all. However, my old time favorite now is Flamin Espinas. What a treat. Perfect fight. You should never ever take him for granted.

Very true, I thought I was good at fighting Flaming Espinas until I took him for granted in 1 faint anomaly investigations and he nuked me swiftly and caused me to fail two quests XD

God I'm such a fan of the somewhat grounded and realistic predatory monsters. Monsters like Nargacuga, Tigrex, and Nergigante feel more like wild animals and beasts than they do fantastical dragons. They perfectly exemplify the core tenants of Monster Hunter's design philosophy of making realistic ecological beasts FIRST, and THEN cranking up the coolness factor to 100. I'd much rather take a badass panther-griffon hybrid any day over some garish elder dragon that's already been done over a hundred times over.

Yeah me too. Probably why i like nargacuga so much. And yeah Kushala Daora is literally just a dragon that is good at blowing the wind 🤣

My first love until I met Valstrax and Seregios, not that I ever stopped loving the swift wyvern as one of my top five monsters. And I am glad that I’m not alone in Lucent as the best rare species. Comparing him to Tigrex who was came first in Portable 2nd, it’s speed over power, but they compliment each other quite beautifully.

Yeah there's a few creators out there right now doing these like CR-Volcanic! I could improve a ton if I kept doing them. I feel this ones runtime was a bit short and I'd like the next one to be longer with some better editing haha.

A Monster that teaches me how to invade. It's like me and Nargacuga are dancing in till one of us fall. Nargacuga will always be one of my favorite monster of all time.

I remember that that roll through the tail swipe was one of the biggest flexes in MHFU) I think I did narga quests because everyone was struggling. And it became the most familiar and easy monster for me. I was so glad they got her back in Iceborne. And the moveset is the same, so I feel like in time loop - just standing in the right places, tail and pounce are a little off :) You can't roll though the tail without a skill tho

great video my friend, maybe youtube knows Nargacuga is one of my favorite monsters to recommend this to me but my favorite is indeed Deviljho, I just love the sheer amount of power it represents

So happy to hear that! It's been like 10 years since I first went up against this guy and I still remember my fights haha. It's memorable. MHFU is so good.

Narga is my number one favorite monster in the entire franchise followed very closely by Glavenus. For me Glavenus just has that savage look with all the spikes and blades on it and it’s one of my favorite monsters to fight besides Narga. Plus while Narga is a cool black panther/bat stealthy, ninja-like wyvern, Glavenus is a dragon/dinosaur with a sword for a tail

My only experience with MH is in World but i loved him their. Even if he is slower. Definitely one of my top 5 in that game. Ps, if you havent listened to Avaitors' song Paralyzed. I'm like 99% sure it was written about the Nargacuga

My favorite monster is Nargacuga, Shogun Ceanataur, Yian Garuga and Khezu Nargacuga: Even tho my first monster hunter game is MHFU, I never tried hunting them until MHP3rd (Dual Tigrex quest give me permanent emotional damage and made my young me retired in MHFU). Then when i hunt them in MHP3rd, it was love at first sight. From design, combat style and their equipment. In my old psp, i have fully maxed out narga armor set, narga ls, hammer and ds. Now I started play MHFU last week and now im looking foward to fight them and collect their equipment too. Shogun Ceanataur: Im a sucker for fun combat gameplay and useful equipment. So Shogun Ceanataur is one of my favorite monster. I love the fact that we can keep destroying their shell and they keep coming back with new unique shell and fighting them with ls is epic af (slashing their knees then rolling between them). Their armor is also useful and looking good too. Yian Garuga: Yian Kut Ku but they turn emo, bigger and more badass. They also fun to hunt and have good equipment too. Khezu: Nice monster concept. I love that they dont have any theme song because technically they cant see you and somehow it add eeriness everytime we fight them. It also one of the monster who force me out of my comfort zone and make me stop using ls and tried hammer for the first time

@@TeraRyza I'm not a Yian Kut Ku fans but Kut Ku is my first wall in MHFU. It force me to try bunch of weapon that actually fit my playstyle. Then when I hunt my first Yian Garuga, I see them just like Yian Kut Ku but I can cut their tail, so it's a automatically fun monster (I was a tail-maniac with LS, always aiming to cut all the tail available). And then when I tried to master hammer, Garuga is my punching bag (nothing satisfying than seeing thing that you keep hitting on gradually changing like Yian Garuga's Ear)

Our rivalry spans the entirety of the series and I like how I've had to learn to hunt it each time. 3. Because it's so savage and resilient. Of all the monsters i feel like Capcom nailed down it's anger perfectly. When it goes for the double fist bomb, you feel that. It's furious just doesn't seem like an adequate description. Novel it was I guess. Keep at it. 👍

Too fast, my big stick weapon cannot keep up, how can I go brrr if the monster is across the map already 😢

A monster that is quite unique in its own category, while I prefer Barioth over Narcaguga, I can still see why people love it. It's a stealthy ninja monster that does not yield until the kill is secured. Personally, my favourite Narcaguga is Green Narcaguga.

Nargacuga is a excellent monster but I feel he hasn't been getting his due in this series so here's my wishlist for what I want him to get in future, - make him half the size and double the speed, this thing should be killing you by a thousand cuts, apart from his tail slam which can be his big high damage attack - mabye have a fun nod to the lore and have 1 in every 100 narga you face be a blue nargacuga, green could be also be reworked to he like a shiny pokemon rather then a full subspecies - make him sleep up on the trees like he did in freedom unite - give him Barioths running animation to make him more like a big cat, - let him jump around on trees and walls to attack you - give him back bleed on his tail spikes - give him a awesome ambush mechanic that can combo into a deadly pin attack if you fail to counter or evade the ambush If they did all that I think nargacuga would be at his peek
