@Odell Mateo boomer is a mindset, not an age. backing tracks are here to stay along with plugins and all kinds of other amazing modelling tech and its not my fault that you're yearning for a bygone age that you've never even experienced or would even have nostalgia for. good luck in the dark ages.

Plini isn't exactly the most technical like vai or satriani or petrucci, but his compositions are brilliant and dare i say (IMO) superior
@nibbagee3640
3 жыл бұрын
@@chadmarx7718 Exactly. In my opinion personally, I believe compositions > technical ability. For e.g. Malmsteen is insanely fast and technical but you couldn't pay me to listen to any of his songs coz it just sounds like endless shredding that gets painfully boring after 10 seconds. (again, just my personal opinion)
@nickkfps3800

@@chadmarx7718 i think plini has proven time and time again to be as technical as the people who inspired him. As a matter of fact, he used tender surrender as his one of his college audition songs, so that says a lot about his technique
@dmcarter1512

@@chadmarx7718 i mean listening to a song like pastures he definitely is a very technical player as well, he just seems to focus a lot more on the song itself instead of the playing if ykwim

@@chadmarx7718 I wouldn't say he lacks the technical ability, more so that he writes superior compositions that don't necessarily need to show off his speed/technical skills. Dudes a beast on the strings, but also as a writer.
That tone is as perfect as their playing
can't spell groove without Grove
This is so tasty! The playing and tones are good and so of course, but the fun they're having, and the saturated smiles make it even better. I always thought that the older Plini songs were even more brilliant, but now I see them playing this, it makes a whole lot more sense! These songs are definetely meant to be more chill-out and fun. The older songs were a lot more intense emotionally. These songs are warm, deliciously smelling hot chocolate on a snowy winter day, whereas the older ones (the End of Everything for example) were sleeping outside, in the mountains, under a sky filled with stars we can never fathom. Now I see, hear and feel the difference, I think I'll enjoy the new songs equally as much! Thanks for sharing!
I love their chemistry
So glad that we, now, have an amazing live performance of "Kind" from you and Simon, Plini. Dankeschoen, friend.

The tone is sublime. The touch matches the tone. Amazing feelings in the air....

Badass!
0:30 jazzy
It's always so satisfying watching both Plini and Simon playing together, I'm convinced that they have a better bromance than plini and aaron lol. Anyway, who else is wondering what's the VST's that plini uses in his backtracking? We're all about his guitar, but the backtracking adds SO MUCH to his tone as well... especially those choirs at 2:54 and the marimba thingy that follows after that. Those are one of the most prominent instruments from his first EP's and hearing them again makes it somewhat nostalgic.

He does use fanned fretted guitars yeah.
@rodrigozamo

It is multiscale but not full fanned frets. For full fanned frets you are looking at a 27" scale on the bottom strings, 25.5 on the top. This particular model is 25 on the top strings, 25.5 on the bottom strings. So it's a little shorter, more Gibson like (Gibson is 24 3/4"), soft and great for bends on the top strings and strat type tension on the top.
