I'm currently obsessed with NAM. I think there might be a future for your channel showcasing the best NAM amps since there is such a vast sea of user submitted captures ranging from garbage to absolutely mind blowing. NAM is the future of amp modeling and tone seeking.

Yeah man I'll show stuff when it really grabs me.
Ya man once I found NAM it was like how could I go back to amp sims. It def made them obsolete for me in a sense because everyday you get a new pack that is amazing. It's only going to get better with the training accuracy, technical discoveries/tips being shared on how to get a better sound, and just the general enthusiasm in the community to want to do better. Steve Ack unlocked pandora's box for guitar tones and now there's no going back.

Yep...for the bedroom/studio practicing playing and recording guys it has zero competition...now we could always use a hardware device that you can load software like that and use it live although i doubt that it ll be able to become a thing cause the companies wont be able to sell their future helixes,axefxes and kempers...most people already spent close to 1000 bucks just to get all the neural dsp plugins for gods sake let alone getting all the hardware emulators out there....not good for business...

Sounds great to me, and the options are indeed endless with NAM at a cost you cannot beat. The community is pulling together quickly to form an enormous repository of free IRs that match or exceed the retail products. I'm interested in the new Toneforge Disruptor sim as it has everything built in, even a tone grabber that we haven't seen before, but I do get your point in comparison to price and functionality. I think the price of sims is going to drop dramatically soon with NAM on the scene, it's just that much of a game-changer. Thanks for the heads up on the packs and the cool demo! 👑🎸🔥
00:40 godly
He (Rohbe) has his own amp! Kinda DIY or so! Try it!
04:44 perfect tone for bands like Terror, Madball, etc
Bass captures are phenomenal too!!! I just installed NAM today and found 15 fantastic bass models. I have ToneX MAX and it doesn't come close
Man those Neural amp stuff is great! Really nice tones !
I’m fortunate enough to have a Bogner Ecstacy that I bought new in the 90s. But I’m still interested in the NAM for variety. True story: when I played my Bogner and my bandmate played his Mesa he complained about not cutting through so yes, the Bogner tone is more refined. he eventually sold his Mesa equipment and bought Bogner but now he makes his own custom amps: Dynamo
Sounds killer. And you're right. I haven't felt the desire of buying any new amp sim since I started using NAM, I probably won't buy one ever again. I only bought a Tonex pedal because I need it for live performances, but I'll stick to NAM for studio use.
I like your taste in tone!

Just got into it. This will change the way people reduce at home completely.
I'm not a pro, but I wanted a small, inexpensive amp collection. Money has become real tight lately so I can't get those inexpensive amps I wanted to add to a collection. NAM has made a big free amp collection possible. I set up a reamp system and a Windows VST host so I can play NAM without starting my DAW through my real tube amp. Sometimes through the clean channel (which is ultra clean) sometimes through my fx loop. It's made a huge difference in my quality of life.
Insta-Slayer! Sounds fucking ace 🤘🤘 Reminds me a lot of their tuning down to C# days. I'm firmly down the Triple Rec rabbithole with NAM at the mo and some of the captures have got shedloads of bottom end which I'm after. Great vid as usual. Keep it metal!
Siicckk🎉
G = Gain, B = Bass, M = Mid, T = Treble etc. It's showing you the settings on the amp in the name of the capture once you load it.

The AI that will take all those single captures of one amp and will combine them into one single capture that can recreate the gain structure of that amp will be the real game changer. Why having to mess with 20 single captures of one single amp?
@MaximusAdonicus
Жыл бұрын
Yeahhh, that's the only problem with NAM currently. It's very silly and cumbersome to have like 20 different captures from a single amp, so that u will have to choose a specific file instead of simply just twisting the knobs to finetune ur sound like in a regular amp vst. I think what u implied is needed: A futher step in the capturing process where the program will compile all the captures into a 1 single file that then works by using the knobs.
@szveszs
Жыл бұрын
@@MaximusAdonicus every capture works like this... Modelling tech it's different than Capturing tech. But yes, in future maybe would be possible to match for example many captures of 1 amp and transform into one single "plugin", being possible to mix even other amps captures and training "stages', training the AI to make some kinda "unique" amp, for example: a channel that can be from JC120 to 5e3 to Plexi and Valvestate boosted by tape saturator and chainsaw or green ringer or any fuzz, blended or not before with some gate... After this, the possibilities are endless, even right just, has people mixing captures into new and unique captures.

True but there's also the real life situation that once dialed we tend to stay in that perceived sweet spot anyway. I've found that I'm going back to good old tone stacking and getting a couple of input signals that give you the jumps you're after works. And that includes outboard gear too. Tried and true boosts and Overdrives still do the job. Some of the best outcomes I've gotten using an old SanAmp PSA1 preamp... ironically.
@alienlovesecrets9379

@@roscius6204 Yes, you're right. But then again there is this thing called taste and sweet spots can indeed vary. Kemper seems to have solved this in theory. They will soon introduce "liquid profiles". Who knows, maybe that's "it"...

Super demo and great insights into pedals vs boosted amp profiles etc. I sometimes find Reaper freaks out a bit when I have NAM loaded. Not using much CPU but it busts things up from time to time as if my CPU is spiking even though it isn't :-/

Input signal has to be at 48kHz otherwise it can lead to technical problems. Check if your project is at 48kHz. I have tested the standalone on a Core2Duo with only 3GB RAM and it runs smooth at 128 samples. Check if you have the latest version of NAM installed 0.7.2 which has a lot of improvements.

@@InTheSh8 Thanks for the tips. Definitely when I have the issue changing sample size doesn't have any effect. I hadn't tried at 48k though so will give that a go and see if it helps. Would be great as the tones you can get from this plugin are awesome 👍
Hello resington. You always used Lancaster IR loader. Is there any difference in using it or the NadIR one? I just discovered NAM and was amazed by the Emil Rohbe models when I watched on another vídeo. I even did a search about him (he has also a YT channel). Now I see you talking about him. 3:38 I dndt understand this ""triple or jwel rack"(?)" (I strugle to understand britanic accent)

Dude. ! Sick riffage man, What tuning are you in?. Sounds awesome!!!!
Although I admit NAM is pretty damn cool its no match for TONEX with its selections and bells and whistles! sound quality as well! But since I have both now Im sure that my buying of plugin days are going to be very minimal at best! lol!
Sounds amazeballs! So are Emil's NAM captures just the amps? Or does he capture amp and cab in one?

@resington

The Normalization switch is brand new so all of the stuff that was created before that switch was incorporated will not be affected by it. If people update their NAM Training GUI and then make new captures, those NAMs will normalize when you hit that switch. So, since its a brand new feature, Id say 98% of all captures you see are not going to do anything when you flip that switch. Some folks are re-doing their NAMs so the normalize switch works but most folks have not and probably wont redo their stuff.
