Nagaland: India’s Most Mysterious State 🇮🇳

THEY EAT DOGS IN NAGALAND! 🇮🇳
Yo guys, after a 6h bus ride from Imphal, Manipur, I've finally arrived in Kohima, Nagaland! Nagaland, in northeastern India, is known for its rich tribal culture and scenic landscapes. It is home to 16 major tribes, including the Angami, Ao, and Sumi. Each tribe has unique traditions, festivals, and crafts. Kohima, the capital of Nagaland, is nestled in the Naga Hills and known for its historical significance, particularly the Battle of Kohima during WWII. Kohima's cuisine is extremely diverse. While roaming through the city of Kohima, I've seen various animal including frogs, worms, snails and even dogs! Tbh exploring Kohima was one of the most intense and crazy things I've seen during my travels in India. Enjoy!

You have seen only 1% of what we eat. You're talking about DOG and FROG only. Some of us eat snakes spider, birds, or so to say anything that has life. But except for some fruits and vegetables, we never eat them raw. We cook them properly in different ways, some fry, some boil and some dry fry or roast. If you can eat chicken, beef, or pork, those animals you're talking about are not different from them. If you cant accept the food habit of the Nagas, check up Mike Okay channel and learn to accept things around the world.

Thank you for visiting Kohima. It’s important to recognize that food traditions vary greatly across cultures, and what might seem unusual to one group can be a delicacy to another. Your vlog highlights the diversity and richness of Nagaland’s culinary practices, which include a variety of ingredients and methods of preparation that are integral to the local culture. While only a small percentage of people might consume dog meat, it’s clear that Nagaland’s cuisine features a wide array of foods, including frogs, snails, hornet bee larvae, silkworms, grasshoppers, snakes, crickets, wild animals etc, all of which are prepared with care and traditional methods. The use of bamboo stems for cooking certain dishes is particularly intriguing and reflects a deep connection with natural resources and traditional cooking techniques. Additionally, it’s worth noting that market hygiene standards can differ, but many people ensure that their food is properly cleaned and cooked at home. This practice is a testament to the community's commitment to food safety and their culinary heritage. Understanding these nuances can foster greater appreciation and respect for the diverse ways people around the world approach food and cooking. You'll understand more when you communicate with people who can give you better information about the culture. I bliv your vlog will encourage more tourists to visit Nagaland. The best time to see Nagaland is during the Hornbill Festival which is held in the month of December.

    2 ай бұрын

@@MWA_NaCl_ The origin of the Nagas is not known. For that matter, little is known of any group believed to be from China that migrated south of the Himalayas. The first record of China people in India is from around the 10th century B.C. Based on linguistic evidence, it is believed that the Nagas and other Indians of Chinese descent originated in a region between the Yellow and Yangtze rivers in northwestern China and arrived in India in several waves of migrations that took place over several centuries after Aryans arrived. Their original settlements were around the Irrawaddy and Chindwin rivers in Burma. The name Naga was first given by the Ahom people in Assam and other neighboring people. The origin of the word Naga is not known. Some say it is derived from the Assamese and Sanskrit words for “naked” (“naga” or “nanga”) or the Hindustani word for mountain (“nag”). Many Naga members don’t like the word Naga; they prefer the names of their tribe or group. The term has only been used widely since Indian independence as a way to distinguish them from other Indians and was a name adopted by the Naga independence movement. Nagas speak languages and dialects that are part of Tibeto-Burman family, which are part of the Sino-Tibetan phylum. But aside from that there is great diversity among the languages spoken by the Nagas.
