That's exactly what I also observed. he asked around for directions and stuff like certain phrases in local dialect but only to non locals. Imagine going to England and talking only to Germans or Indians living there. At this rate, he will learn nothing of value from his travels. What a waste of time.

I don't know about dietary habits of Naga when it comes to dogs but we Zo usually treat it as a celebratory meat, we don't eat it on a daily basis. And some consider it as a vice meat because youngsters take it with alcohol my parents detest dog meat like the 7 deadly sins. You will plenty of of dog meat delicacies in Aizawl hotels but haven't seen an open street sale for a long time.

@@visano. I am from Haflong, I gave up dog meat long time ago due to my parents. Back then there was a designated Camp of Dimasa DHD militants near our village and Dimasas don't eat dog. So me and my friends used to go there and ask 2 of the Camp guards to secretly give us their guard dogs, we got them really cheap and we took upto 4 dogs in a month. Then their commander came to know of it and beat them up real bad. I felt so sorry for those boys. True story

If you can eat chicken, beef, or pork, those animals you're talking about are not different from them. When that lady opened the door and those poor tied dogs lifted their eyes like waiting for salvation, it hurts a lot. Of course I'm being selective here and it just does not justify. It applies the same for all meat we eat, ranging from fishes to chicken. Besides, a lot of people from NE also keep dogs as pets and their love is genuine too. Just that, being a dog owner myself it hurts a lot to see them tied and sacked.Hope someday Nagas and everyone get over this..
