    I bought the M10, one big plus that you failed to mention is the “wife approval factor” this piece of kit sailed through that test 😀

    Hi I already had seen the Simon's review but I am again diving in NAD reviews, because now they are going to launch the 2º version of it. It's an integrated amp that I like for the design and features. I am agree with you that all we like to have a "touch" experience in this hobby. I like to use all my sources (turntable, Minidisc, cassette tape,..) and I think despite as you mentioned, the M10 can be used in this way. Of course you can use it as an all-inone simple and easy solution, but I think that as streamer or for using your hard disck files is a more enjoyable experience than other amplifiers, you see the information in a big screen, you can touch it, even you can see the vu-meters... Definitively it's far better than other similar products. And of course you can also use the app... but... you can connect your cassette deck, your turntable, your CD or SCAD player,...and enjoy them. And... the M10 has a pre-out, that means thay you are able also to use it as DAC/preamp and connect ot to another amplifier solid state or also tube amp, that is versatility. The new version has also a second subwoofer out, and also capability to use it as a 4.2 system (with wireless surround speaker connection), and it will also compatible with all the streaming servicies (Roon, Spotify, Tidal,...) and also with Google Assistant, Alexa, Siri,... I thik is not only a solution for a simple, clean and minimalistic system, is also convenient for peple that like to play with the sources, amps, and other gears... I really would like to get one for my system. In the other side I always think that I could do it with a dedicated computer with touch screen, a DAC and the rest of gear, and probably cheaper... but... I really love the NAD M10 concept Regards.

    Enjoying M10 with focal aria 936. Because of aria high efficiency you can actually shake a building with that small cube even on 80%

    Another great video. I would love to see a video about your tube amp system. As an audiophile, I can never make my mind up. Do I buy a tube amp/dac/stream or the Naim nova. Maybe I’ll have to buy both and return the one I like less.

    @@joaoroman9583 Dirac isn’t that great and can detract from the sound, using atom and Qobuz is great so far, not sure what I’m missing from bluos personally, power isn’t everything... the naims are known to handle speakers they have no right handling! I can’t honestly tell you why, but I did a straight back to back and the atom sounded much better to my ears. It’s all personal though, otherwise there would only be one!

    Would using this just as a streaming preamp be considered overkill? It would essentially be a C658 + display, correct?

  • @SmallRoomAudio

    @SmallRoomAudio

    I haven’t tried the C658, but yeah, sounds like overkill to use the M10 just as a screen enabled pre - that said, we all have different requirements, so it might be perfect for what you need, particularly if you value the screen being available.

    Functionally it would be great, the screen really is nice over the traditional looking C658, not sure on performance having not heard the C658 though, I’d expect the C658 to be higher up the ladder

    Meh... It still gets my vote for most boring amplifier of the decade. I happen to have a very strong distaste for designed obsolescence, and these things are just going to wind up as piles of e-waste it a few years. Looks like a glorified iPod for rich people.

    Great use of the word ‘Meh’! It definitely sums up how I felt about the M10 before giving it a go! Totally get what you are saying about design - what’s your favourite piece of gear for memorable design over the last couple of years? Could do a video about them, like the angle!

    @@SmallRoomAudio Without a doubt the Yamaha A-S 1200 is the most memorable piece of gear I've ever purchased. All the other components in my system made minor incremental improvements, and then I went out and bought a real amplifier. Now every time I listen to my system I am overwhelmed with gratitude that I own such a beautiful thing. When it comes to amplifiers the Yamaha just curb stomps everything I've heard before. Honestly now that I own the A-S 1200 I really have no more desire to watch audio component reviews, however I am still watching a few out of habit.
