In which I enjoy (too much) a journey through the Inferno (and Paradise Lost) to describe the unmade from Brandon Sanderson's the Stormlight Archive.

Sorry about the sound quality. Everytime I tried to fix it, it just got worse. I think my pirate voice messed up the presets...

I wonder if the "Mindless" Unmade were once emotion spren, and the other Unmade were once radiant spren, powerful ones.

Thats an excellent theory! The WoBs on the unmade are quite unsatisfactory.

My personal theory: there were originally 10 "God"-level Spren like the Stormfather at the head of the 10 "Cousin Spren" groups (Stormfather for Windspren, Re-Shephir for Creationspren, etc), and 9 of them got "Unmade" the same way the Sibling was getting done in RoW. The Sibling came later, and I think the Nightwatcher is one of the Unmade who resisted Odium like Sja-Anat is doing now.

That is a wonderful theory, and works well as an in-world explanation for the unmade. I’m not sure I agree with the bit about the night watcher. But overall You May be on to something!

Great Video! I think Ba-Ado-Mishram was a powerful spren of Roshar that was "unmade" by Odium, the spren that represented spren and the connection to spren. So when captured, a fundamental “”surge”” was disrupted particularly the connection between the Cognitive Realm and Spiritual Realm for spren and thoses who bond with spren. That's why the Singers connected to her lost their forms as well as a core element of their Spirit Web and why Deadeyes now occur.

I've seen that theory around and I like it! From a meta/mythical inspiration perspective, in the Judeo/christian mythos there is the title 'prince of the world' and sometimes it applies to a good guy, sometimes to a bad guy. I can totally see Sanderson playing with that idea with Ba-Ado-Mishram "high-princess of Roshar." Further musings required. Thank you!

Because your pronunciation is so different from my own, I decided to check audio WOBs to see how B$ says these names and I was surprised to have a few of them wrong.

Loved the video! Btw, your voice is really quiet compared to the skits, whenever they appeared my headphones exploded

So does equating Ba-Ado-mishram with treachery explain bonded spren becoming dead eyes only after her imprisonment? Did locking away the idea of betrayal cause a sort of frozen transformation state for spren who no longer had access to this idea - how could they betray if betrayal does not exist?! Sorry, I’m overthinking it probably. I’m glad you’ve read this stuff and can tell me the connections so I’m free not to make that effort.

This is something of a tangent but a lot lovercraften horros also appear in the Conan stories by Robert E Howard and honestly I like how he handleds these creatures such as Dagon. The Elephant Tower is a good example. Have a nice day.

Oh gosh, the entire extended Cthulu mythos was something I was blissfully unaware of, until I started this project. Thanks for the tip!

Oh my storming goodness. The art work is Inferno. But storm it, you're right, it does look like the Palineaum. How have I not noticed that? I don't think that is a coincidence---this is going into a video. THANK YOU!

I love your content, but it's long so I tend to listen instead of watch. Can you get closer to your mic or edit your sound a bit more? Your vocals are inconsistent.

Thank you for the feed back! I think I know why the sound was soo off this time, and I'm working to ensure it doesn't happen again. Also aiming for something more pithy and lighter next week. I got a little carried away with this one.
