I recently proxied her with my group, she’s really fun. I’ve done some changes to her from the list I found like adding Bolt and Cathartic Pyre as both instants to trigger Myra before we roll, and also as ways to remove the Magistrate since he kinda locks you out of casting off her rolls.

She's terrific, but I believe that she has a lot more potential than the PWP list suggests and is missing several of what I would consider to be key pieces for the deck. Feel free to get creative. She's worth the effort.

There is a similar commander in BR in unfinity if you don't feel like using the RNG of attractions at the cost of being weaker to board wipes (Turns spells into 3/3 tokens that cast the spell when they do combat damage to a player and is cheaper to set up for +4 CMC spells)

That kinan deck reminds me edh back in 2010 when the whole point of playing edh, was to play this dumb (unplayable in standard, extended or legacy) and big and amazing creatures! It was sooo cool to hard cast all those creatures! And now 2023 we can do it throuout a combo!!! Soooo nicee!!

Mike's win was mean. Feels like playing casual and completely obliterating and disintegrating the opponents. Very nice games!

Didn't need to discard to hand size with Nezahal out. Or since it reentered play, would you still have to discard? Didn't make one whit of difference.

Got really confused around the 14:55 loop description, what spell was he casting to trigger hullbreaker? that whole sequence was wild, don't think I would be able to do it without a nice visual for the stack like that lol.

could be any instant or flash creature. With infinite mana, Mike could draw his deck with thrasios to find an instant to cast and keep the loop going I presume.

I wonder why at 9:25 Dante declines to copy the March of Swirling Mist with Wandering Archaic. From the outside looking in, it looks like there's not any downside to making sure Mike doesn't get to keep seedborn + kinnan in play for another turn cycle. Maybe the expectation was that Shaun was going to pop off without Mike to keep him under control, but I read Mike as the threat at this point.

@@PlayingWithPowerMTG What do you mean exactly? The players copying March of Swirling mists shouldn't have to exile 2 blue cards. Ex. if you copy a Harrow, you don't need to sacrifice additional lands.

@@SmaybeViolet I think he means that the copy remembers what costs and modes were paid for the original and copies those as well. Eg. If you copy a Baleful Mastery which was cast for 1B, then the copy would cause an opponent to draw a card.

I would be interested to know which attractions Shaun is playing. If its just all possible or just specific ones. However you cannot see that in the decklist in the description

Glinthorn deals damage to EACH opponent. You only need 40 cards in deck to win with it. What's more likely is that two opponents have low health, so you don't have enough spare treasures to kill the last one, but obviously that doesn't apply here.

In game 2, im wondering why Shaun didn’t try to put the Temporal Manipulation under an attraction before rolling for them?

Shaun here. Mostly because of the mana situation. This was recorded awhile ago so I don't remember the exact details, but I think I would have had to do it on my upkeep and was worried about Myra getting removed in response and basically wasting my entire turn.

He did not have inf blue mana. With nyxbloom + a copy of nyxbloom he was able to multiply all of his colored mana by 9. Which is a lot of colored mana but not inf. Until he got Hullbreaker Horror.

He had Snap. His loop with Snap gave him the blue mana he needed.

not infinite but more than enough to use it many many times. He basically had 9 times as much blue/green mana due to Nyx+the copy of Nyx. And Kinnan also amplifying how much nonlands tap for as well

Inventing of the big flips archetype hits the meta game in a brutal way, turbo decks simply can’t do anything as soon as either jin or void winnower hits the field, the format struggles to handle kinnan as with this build it’s both card advantage and mana in one card, it functions as both a stax and midrange deck that beats stax so it wins against turbo, very interesting design

Kinnan is a favorite deck of two different cEDH players, Higher, who often shows up on Playing with Power, and someone on the Play to Win channel. They keep using it so it continually shows up on videos and never leaves the radar.

In game 1, the Glint Horn combo doesn't seem to work. There is over 100 life at the table and there are only 80 something cards left in Dante's library. During the iterations, he would have to refresh his library somehow or switch to a different combo to finish off the table.

This is a common misconception. Glint-horn damages each player at the same time. It creates an extra treasure with each iteration until the first player is dead. Then it breaks even with treasures until the next player is dead. It then uses the surplus treasures from the first iteration to finish off the last player.

I realized one if the reasons why I like cEDH is people aren't pleading to not target them, or begging for assistance. In casual play, playing smart tends to not work cause people get angry, and it's just annoying

@@danielelaudaz8551 its not just cards or achetypes. if someone is clearly in the lead on boardstate or life, and i target them with an attack or removal, and they get EXTREMELY upset, even when they are the clear threat, thats why i dont like casual pods... ive pretty much stopped playing because of people like that, and they are plenty

I really want to be in one of these episodes at mox pearl teir but I’m not sure if my less than 100% proxies of Kinnan would be acceptable but its my own brew and I’m proud of it so I’m torn

Malcom, Keen-eyed navigator says "Whenever one or more pirate you control deal damage to your oppoents you create a treasure token for EACH opponent dealt damage." Gint-Horn Buccaneer is a pirate. When you discard a card, Glint-Horn deals 1 damage to EACH opponent. With a generic and red, you can discard a card and draw a card. As long as you have 2 opponents, you will make 2 treasure token to pay for the generic and red and you draw each time you discard. So as long as the # of cards in your library > highest opponent life total, then you can kill everyone.

While SOME of the cards from Unfinity aren't legal in EDH, Myra and all of the attractions used are 100% legal.
