How? The flagrant disregard for all of the mythics and rhystics was just horrible to watch.
This game boiled down to the question of "when does everybody run out of counter magic?"
"How many counterspells do you want?" CEDH: Yes
Thank for having me, it was a wild game! :)

This must've been a nightmare to edit and commentate. Thank you for putting in all the hard work to give us a gem of a gameplay video. That game was wild.
That was ONLY turn 5! That felt longer than most casual games I play
This game perfectly highlights why removal is so important. Counterspells are great but not having that removal for drannith, counterbalance, rhystic, mystic, etc. just makes playing the game and winning that much more difficult.

Looking at that board, your removal probably wouldn't resolve though. Something like abrupt decay would do wonders, but people haven't run this in ages.

I never stopped running Abrupt Decay. Basically every deck I make will always have Abrupt Decay, Assassin's Trophy, Cyclonic Rift, and Nature's Claim as a bare minimum for removal-based interaction

@@MageSkeleton you can’t just swap phases without passing priority. When you go to pass the turn what you are actually doing is suggesting a shortcut where each player passes priority through your turn. Each player receives priority BEFORE the phase changes.

@@Snuske10006great game! Was thoroughly entertaining to see everyone fight so hard for the win
3 islands in play and "fails to find a land" - best moment of game xD
This game was so heavily played and it was outstanding with how much everyone had to play around everyone else. Love these games and it's just the best showcase why I think Commander is the most powerful format.
Best channel of CEDH on youtube
Damn those fish ate well today
Snuske and zain both being rograhk players amd not being able to cast it turn one while the najeela player casts their own is hilariously ironic.
This is one of the best, most interactive games I’ve ever seen. I do, however, have 1 criticism. Everyone knew at the beginning of the game that Snuske was on a mull to 4, and yet they fed the shit out of Snuske’s fish. I feel like this is a situation where the other 3 players should agree not to feed, taking Snuske effectively out of the game. The incidental benefit is that they also would have avoided feeding Memo’s fish as well. Maybe it wouldn’t have mattered in the end with all the wheels, but Snuske stopped a ton of win attempts and Memo eventually had the pieces to grind it out and win.
@RagingPoo
11 ай бұрын
None of these decks can afford to do that for very long. After a few turns they would be forced to discard and Snuske would have the same number of cards in hand by then anyway.
This game was insane. What a game. This is what happens when everybody plays blue. 🤣
An absolute WIZARD battle! I loved watching this game. What a fantastic match, really hope to see more like this!
Love the play with soul partition on his own oracle
Phenomenal game! Love the crazy amounts of interaction. Been a few too many turn 2 wins recently imo, this is the good stuff!
The stack on this game, holy shit. Well played!
Knowing the translation of 'snuske', I giggled a bit every time Ryan said it. You're a prankster, Martin!
Thanks for having me as well (: was a blast!
Dang that's a powerful bunch of commanders today
Drannith is such a strong card. I continue to be more and more obsessed with it as I play it! :) Unpopular opinion, white is my favorite color...and Drannith is slowly getting put int every deck! haha I just wish he was a unicorn for my unicorn tribal deck. HA! :) GG guys!
I love the counter war when it was just people using the cards in their hand before Time Twister resolved
I love watching powerful decks play against each other!
Holy cow that was some game! Seemed very fun to be playing in. So much interaction and so many card draws! Very cool.
Absolutely CRACKED match! Great job to literally everyone on that epic battle. This was what people mean when they say true CEDH. Totally even playing field and all pilot skill. Again, huge props to everyone, tight play all around.
Before watching the game, I want to say that I think Hoarding Broodlord has a good shot in cedh as a new reanimation target (other than raz and vilis). It gets saw in Half, which then you just need 2 more mana or creatures to saw Broodlord, get 2 more cards. From there it is trivial to set up a win
@MehrGills
Жыл бұрын
@@MageSkeleton yep. Just commenting cause I think it's a cool card for the reanimator style decks (like rog tevesh, and even occasionally rog si, although raz is the normal big baddie right now)

Жыл бұрын
why not just use either of the draw/card demons, like runescared.. hoardling has to discount the spells to be of more value, but adding in saw in half is the same mana as the spells you would find. its questionable right now if hoarding makes it. not being a legendary might help though. Vilis/raz are hard to compare too!
This game is what I think of when I think of cEDH.
My god the amount of interaction in this game is just over the top wow. What a game.
That was a hard won game, well done
This is the exciting CEDH gameplay we all enjoy! The great grind of a 100 triggers of mystic remora and Rhystic study.

The number of spells countered this game was absolutely nuts
The fact that this was a webcam game must have made things that much more difficult. My mind melted half way thru trying to keep track of things

Yupp, remora is the most powerful card in cEDH IMO. Even over Dockside
Every single player cast force of negation this game. Excellent gameplay by the way

Love this series ❤
Id like an on-screen counter for how many times Mystic Remora triggered. 😂
What a match. Absolutely killer
This video is just counters, and draw triggers due to R.S and Mystic Remora 😆. I wonder how much of the video is Ryan commentating on game actions, that aren't counters and draw triggers
It's funny, while the first Mnemonic Betrayal was on the stack, I thought to myself "this is the kind of game that rog/si never win, since there's so many resources in play, the game always goes to the player with Grand Abo or Silence" and then...
Thanks for the video! Next time let me know in advance so I can buy stock in fish food companies.
Can someone explain why everyone fought so hard over veil? Was it the threat of dark ritual into an ad naus? It felt like the red blast would be better pointed at rhystic study?

If the veil resolved Memo would have had an entirely fresh hand of spells that couldn't be interacted with. Especially with a five color goodstuff deck, you don't want to give them a turn where you can't interact with them
@Spirited_skiing
Жыл бұрын
@@Outlawbyname but it wasn’t their turn, right? So they were almost tapped out with just a few mana left and had to do everything at instant speed. It seems weird to me but I don’t play cEDH that much so maybe my threat assessment of the rhystic study being way more dangerous is off. Like I get they might draw a ritual/ad naus, but that seems less likely than the rhystic player running away with the game
@Outlawbyname
Жыл бұрын
@Spirited Skiing it wasn't so much that they thought he could do something, it was the threat that he could do something and they wouldn't be able to stop him. At the very least, since Veil is an "Until end of turn" effect, the active player would have been pressured into ending their turn early to avoid uncounterable interaction. Something to remember about cEDH is that it's a game of inches, not miles. This game is a perfect example of that. Even the smallest advantage can put one person ahead of the rest of the table, snowballing them into a win.
@Spirited_skiing
Жыл бұрын
@@Outlawbyname The active player wasn’t the one countering it though, right? It was another NAP. I definitely get snowballing advantage is scary, but isn’t rhystic study the definition of a snowballing advantage engine? Or is it less threatening because 2 other players has remoras?
That was absolutely insane

This is simultaneously the best yet one of the worst games to have been showcased here. I'm (mostly) kidding when it comes to the latter, but I refuse to go anywhere near blue color cards for the next month after this xD
Wacky stacks in this one!!!
Feels like my recent game where Najeela(me), Krark&Sakashima, and Blue Farm all had a turn one or two Rhystic Studies AND Esper Sentinel/Mystic Remoras. Ended up being almost a two-hour game just because no one ever ran out of interaction. (Or we THOUGHT everyone had interaction with 10+ cards in hand. Turns out I missed a win because I went for the conservative play instead of trying to win. RIP)
Najeela getting it done.
How many cards did Zack have by the end of that game lmao

Why did Memo have a Rograkh, Son of Rohgahh? For the Warrior triggers and Mox Amber?
@089Memo90

Hi! Yes, thats the general idea. If we cast Roger and Naj on t1 we also get double triggers on t2. It is also cool for Amber and Culling the Weak. That said, I was playtesting it, currently its not in the list, because I noticed that its just to one dimensional for the turbo pivot queen ( as showcased in the video!)

not gonna lie, this game had a big amount of the same cards being played again and again by different players...
This is nice to watch because all the waiting is cut out, but games like these play miserably over Spelltable, especially when people have so many hand cards and options available and all the draw triggers when spells are cast. Like people take forever in their turns and since everyone has priority technically at every point when the stack resolves, it can get grindy. I wonder how long this game took in RL time. Also cards like mnenomic betrayal just do not work in Spelltable and they become a chore to play. This is fixable by playing in RL with people that know the format, but games from the Discord via Spelltable with random people playing those kinda decks, never again.

Greedy players take their turbo decks and their less than 25% chance to win with remoras and rhystic on board then feed player into a silence effect protected wins. Greed at it's finest, truly american cEDH gameplay !
The state of this format is so boring, lets just watch 4 people take turns drawing and showing off their $100+ cards
