Hey Mike my son is a huge fan of yours. Anyway over the past few minutes of watching you play game 3 he’s gotten much better at playing baseball (he plays in the 11-13 year old division). I just wanted to stop by and thank you for teaching him how to throw so well. In all seriousness, I made a mistake earlier in the game that cost me the win too - but it might be harder to spot if you’re not paying extra close attention. Starting after I cast K’rrik on my turn 2, I should have: - not have used Cut Down. This was very silly on my part, since I was weirdly obsessed with casting something on each of my opponents turn in the name of ‘efficiency’. This is even after I had already convinced Mike not to attack me by threatening to block with Dockside and reanimate it again! It’s easy to forget sometimes that even in cEDH, using your words and politics can be super effective. - cast deadly rollick on Mike’s end step targeting Korvold. This would have prevented Ashani from being able to respond with Dualcaster - cast Entomb on Nick’s end step, burying Gray Merchant of Asphodel At this point, on my turn 3, I would still be at 27 life to start since I would have cast Entomb instead of Cut Down. Next, I would: - activate Wishclaw fetching Overeager apprentice. Note that this is a ritual that is a creature spell, meaning it doesn’t use up my deafening silence spell for the turn. (I can now pretty simply assemble the Gary / Chainer loop) - activate apprentice for BBB, sacrificing it and discarding one of the irrelevant cards in my hand. - cast Chainer and activate him, bringing back Gary. - activate Chainer, bringing back apprentice. - activate apprentice for another BBB, cast Final Parting (my one noncreature spell for the turn) with anything going to hand and Dimir House Guard going to the yard. - activate Chainer reanimating DHG - sacrifice Gary to DHG and then activate Chainer to bring him back, completing the set up of the loop and having just enough life to spare!!! For any of you up and coming K’rrik pilots out there, while the deck can be blisteringly fast, it is also surprisingly resilient. This could have and should have been a turn 3 win even powering through a turn 1 deafening silence and going last! I had a great time with Nick, Mike, and Ashani - it’s always a treat playing with the wonderful folks at PWP, and am happy that reviewing the game has made me a better K’rrik pilot and Magic player. Cheers all! - Peter #WotCStaff

That last swords to plowshares the very last game felt like a punt. I’m curious why he was concerned with ranger captain since the board staxed out. And he knew what could kill him. He shouldn’t be worried about anything but Elesh Norn or Jetmir which swords could interact with on cast… make them have deflecting swat. & if they tapped out they couldn’t activate it bc Thalias/glowrider & cannonist etc. Just seems not great.

I thought that permanents don't trigger themselves if a card etbs which shares card type with the respective permanent.
