Great to see you back!!
Love your videos :-) My father worked for F Pratt & Co of Halifax, (Later Pratt Burnerd International) from being an apprentice in the late 40's until his early death in '77 when he was their Chief Industrial Engineer. He often used to take my brother and I in on a Saturday when he needed to work, and we would play with the decals you showed in this video (and the one from the 3 jaw chuck restoration) used them like counters and 'money'. Your videos have brought back a lot of happy memories, thank-you.
As a mechanical engineer I want you to know that the beautiful chuck key has awoken some deeply primal responses from within. You should be very proud of such a lovely piece. Pretty sure I’ve now watched all of your videos, or at least all of those on KZread. I have thoroughly enjoyed them all. Thank you so much for all the time and effort that you put in, creating unique, engaging, educational, and highly entertaining content.

No wonder I got recommended this channel. My favorite youtuber dude watches this and I’ve been binge watching this channel for the past two days.
this wins the price of overly dramatic music montage any day!
Fuck me, the most tense I’ve ever been watching a restoration. Nice job my lamby chum.
Excellent! Geoffrey’s back. Nice to see your rust removal experimenting wasn’t wasted. Smashing result, looks really good. Regards Graham

well that was the most intense restoration video in a while.
I’ve been rewatching your stuff from the first Buford video to the most recent Range Rover video and I’m really impressed at how good your editing got so fast.
I love the production values on this, made me smile... well done, please keep it up 😀

Twas like Jason Bourne had just woken from an intense nightmare about lathes before levelling up in Vulgus and ripping out his own molar with Crestoloy pliers. I liked it.
Brilliant. I've just bought an ML10 with a bunch of chucks including this one, so I'll be watching your ML7 restoration videos.
Nice action / adventure lathe work. "In a world, where submarines rampaged against the lathe chuck key shipping lanes.... One man and a Myford, take on the rawest of materials, to make...... a serviceable part!" Good work man, I'm pumped now. Gonna go out to the shop and ...... um...... yeah..... PS..... so, where did you move to? I kept seeing sheep trying to intrude.... I know it wasn't Texas! Woolly maggots aren't allowed down here.

Yeah, kinda weird that. Too many hard tackles I guess. Or I'm just prone to "Historical Memories and Dating Advice from the Scottish Highlands...." I wonder if some other youtuber was trying to "horn in" on your channel or something.

I fully understand getting rid of all the rust and getting the parts looking and working how they should. However lathe faceplates are meant to be mounted to the machine there to be used on then a light facing cut with any new faceplate is taken across the whole face to true it to that machine. Most of them other than specialty faceplates are unhardened for a reason. Any dings etc over the faceplates life then further light facing cuts are made as well. Think of them as semi expendable tooling if there being used a lot. It's also not unknown for faceplates to slightly warp from the built in casting stresses over some time and because of there cross section. I'd be willing to bet if you indicate that faceplate you'll find it's got a few high / low areas. The turned finish also adds a bit of grip to the parts that get clamped to the faceplate as well. Most chucks at least the good ones are hardened and ground on the face so that face should be true to the spindles locating stub and un-threaded portion. For those and if there not exactly square to the spindle then toolpost grinding is required.
Screw the haters the edit was awesome. Well done on some quality content as always.

What was that electrolysis finish you applied to the chuck key? Thanks for the great vids, from a fellow Kiwi.
Love your videos. What was the name of the awesome dramatic background music, where can I find it? I seriously want to use it as a my ringtone.
Excellent video as always, it really made my day! How did you do the dividing for the square? Lovely work... can't wait for the rest of the S7 resto.

I left the main shaft oversize so I could cut a flat in one side, and then use the flat to clamp in in the vice 90 deg. to the first cut. etc.
The background music is epic awesome. Just like your channel... gritty, intense and fiery. I feel like I can go take on a whole army now. Be right back.

Not a fan of drama, but if you gotta have some - this would be the way to do it. Nice vid mate, looking forward to the next one. :)
Yo, Bro, Here in Oz evaporust cost $70 a gallon, vinegar costs $4 a gallon. Results are the same it just takes longer , like about 2 days. Add a bit of salt to the vinegar to rev it up and wait for the alchemy to happen. The brew never goes off, it doesn't stink, but it looks a bit ugly.. Wash the bits in Bicarbonate of soda solution and rinse well to avoid flash rust. Once you get the process going just chuck in rusty bits, leave them a day or two and get all your bits back to how they were meant to look. A wire wheel on the bench grinder and a scotch brite wheel for 10 bux, and you've got yourself a new hobby. Steve Callachor 150 degrees east, 34 degrees south, 28 degrees Celsius tonight.
what is the piece of dramatic music called or where is it from, top channel, can't get enough!
Welcome back mate....keep the vids coming....thanks :)

Annoyed and thank you for sharing these good works that you perform a restoration of ten, I am now going to restore a myford ml7, what a pity that I do not master English to be able to listen and understand your videos. What are the products that you use as degreasers acids etc ... and where could you buy them? thanks for sharing a greeting from Spain
Nice job Geoff. Have you ever thought about trying your hand blacksmithing and making some parts the (real) old fashioned way? I think with your mindset you'd be a Wiz. We can never have too many skills. Regardless... love the vids. Keep up the great work; it's always a treat when you release anything to watch.
