Great motivational video! This is my story, I had 220lbs 2 months ago. Then I started to eat clean and train at home, and it really improved my health. After 1st month I lost 7lbs, and after 2nd month I lost additional 13lbs. Now I have 200lbs and I am strongly motivated for more. Nothing comes overnight, don't forget that!! I found great online diet that I have followed for the last 2 month, which helped me a lot. The diet from Next Level Diet is really doing a great job so far.

Through a similar situation like yours, a friend of mine has the same illness and the drugs she takes has so many second effects and harm the liver that we find a way to improve her health: no sugar, no carbs, tons of veggies and... the final secret: green coffee enemas. Cleans so much and deeply the liver that also improve her mode in a best way for her. Keep being safe and sound. Cheers!

Excess sugar in the body can exacerbate sooo many different problems. I eat a pretty good diet with the exception of sugar. It's my biggest weakness 😭 there was also a small study done on the Mediterranean diet and its possible effects on depression. Like those who ate that diet saw ~30% decrease in their depression or something. More research should be done but still a really interesting read 😊

This was probably one of the most inspiring videos I have seen in a while. It’s comforting to see someone be so real about their journey and what they have had to go through. I can relate to so much of what you have said and it’s comforting to know that you are not alone in the way you feel. You describe feelings that I thought I was crazy for feeling, especially when you said that everything just hits you harder than others. I was pretty emotional watching it because I was like wow I can relate to her so much! I started my fitness journey in 2020 and you were actually the person that inspired me to go to the gym and you’ve been a big contributor and motivator throughout my whole journey. Seeing you and your company grow is so inspiring in my personal life and it makes me feel like I can achieve anything I set my mind to. It makes me feel motivated, to keep pushing especially when it’s tough, to get out of my comfort zone, and to jump even though it scares me shitless. It inspired me to find my purpose in life. Please keep doing what your doing. I feel like being vulnerable is the most powerful thing a human being can do. I also believe everything happens for a reason and I’m so freaking GLAD I started to follow you on Instagram 💜 I hope I get to meet you one day !!

You guys are 100% the reason I actually started my fitness journey. I followed you back in summer of 2018 probably and tried to make small changes to start with, but I really kicked it off in June of 2020. I am 5’9 and started at about 280 pounds at that point (possibly more originally but I hadn’t checked in a long time). Currently 247 but still working! Seeing someone who started out in a similar place as me really gave me the confidence to start my own journey. Your posts/videos have always kept me motivated! And I am also going through the same thing you did with alcohol and ordering pizza at 1am! After about a year I’m finally comfortable just saying no. I still offer to hang out, but tell them that I won’t be drinking or eating the ordered food and not to offer it to me. Thank you both for making a positive impact on all of our lives 💕

Your story resonated so much with me. From the childhood trauma to the college experience to the lost sense of self. Thank you for being vulnerable enough to share the deeper pains that led you to your tipping point, and for connecting fitness and nutrition with healing. It’s so much more than getting control of your body back, it’s getting control of your ability to grow and thrive back. For people with trauma, especially childhood trauma, it takes time to learn that your life belongs to you and not to the people and circumstances that kept you small. It then takes time to learn how to step into your own power and live actively rather than passively. I’m still learning, and I love the idea that health and fitness can be a loving experience, a conduit for growth and self-actualization, instead of a punishment for the unhealthy decisions I made when wounded and trying to survive. Thank you for refreshing my motivation and for paying your healing experience forward.

It’s so helpful to follow someone who has gone through the journey as it keeps you motivated. I’ve learnt lots of tips from you and Greg and found your videos about food and nutrition so helpful. I have listened to how my body reacts to food and have made adjustments to my diet to make sure I feel nourished and stronger. Weight training has also become a passion and I really enjoy how it helps your mental health too. Please can you let us know when Bloom will be available in England? We are so in need of it!

I went through a breakup of three years and losing two close friends last year. I got really into fitness started to run and weightlift everyday. I've been following you since late 2019 and you've been such an inspiration always. I really felt when you said fitness is so great for your mental health and how the physical effects were just a plus, that is literally how I feel all the time. Thank you so much for sharing your journey, I am so happy for you, you give me hope for the future. I just loved this because it was so relatable. I workout alone in my neighborhood and in my room with free weights. My fitness journey is really personal and about becoming a stronger person, taking control of depression and anxiety. It was truly beautiful to hear you feel that too, as many people are motivated for their appearance when there is such a deeper meaning behind it as well. I wish I knew you, you are awesome. I know 2022 will have so much more greatness in store for you.

I don’t know why or how I ever thought cardio was the only way but once I got over how intimidating the weights area of the gym felt I found a whole new part of myself. I remember how straight forward the gym guides were, and with a plan for my workout, I could block out any gym anxiety. And soon after that my friends got intrigued and tried it out too. I don't have BPD but I do have anxiety and depression and have experienced self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and not being able to take proper care of myself and my living space. I had to move back in with my mom and stepdad at 28 because my mental health was the worst it's ever been. I love how you focus on mental health as a key motivation for your weight loss. Weight loss is deeply psychological and I think a lot of videos miss out on this aspect; with a greater focus on aesthetics, diets and calories. If you’re very overweight, there’s always some kind of psychological reason for it, and addressing these issues in tandem with diet is the only way to make effective change. This video was really inspiring, so thankyou❤

Thank you for being brave and posting this. I’ve been struggling with a few issues more recently and this video gave me a bit of a reality check.. and the need to take my health more seriously, including nutrition. It’s hard not to feel hopeless at 33.. sometimes I feel like my life is done, and it’s not worth living a healthier life.

I cannot thank you enough for having the courage to put yourself out there and be a light in the fitness industry that women everywhere can relate to and appreciate. Your effort and dedication to yourself, your brand and the community you built is so unique and special and I am so so SO happy to have found you. Your guide and facebook group kickstarted my fitness/mental health journey and got me through some hard times, AND I still use your bands today! I am in the process of completing my personal training certification and I could not be more excited to help others change their life and be a light in my own community. THANK YOU MARI FOR CHANGING MY LIFE ❤️

Ashwagandha pulled me out of depression and no energy. I’m still in the midst of my weight loss journey but I was a physical wreck and had horrible sleep so I first worked on that then used various herbs for depression and anxiety. Ashwagandha, Oatstraw, schisandra, eleuthero, and rhodiola. I take more for other things too but those were the bulk of healing for me from depression anxiety and no energy. I couldn’t believe just how much I was lacking in nutrients and how much that changed me. That and praying to the Lord to guide me on what to take and seeking Him. 2 years ago I was a complete mess and couldn’t even get myself to get off the sofa to do dishes and now I am active and don’t even think about things. I just do them with no anxiety. Hang in there! and keep going in the right direction and give your body what it needs and you can heal. ❤️❤️❤️

I love how open you are with your mental health journey. As someone who spent my life at a 3 thinking it was an 8 until I did the work and found my triggers and how to cope (I am someone who needs antidepressants, even after therapy and other healthy habits). Working out is a nonnegotiable part of my life to keep physically and mentally healthy. I’m working to get my pre-baby body back, I had just lost all my weight from my first pregnancy when I got pregnant last year. Unfortunately, my second son was born very sick with a liver tumor and only lived for 24 days, so now I’m just trying to physically and mentally heal. Having the slay app and the 8 week challenge has been really motivating for both my physical and mental health. Thank you for being an advocate for mental health and for sharing your journey. PS I have an OG Mari Fitness band that is held up better than any other band I’ve owned, I love it so much!

I have a friend whom I recently I had to let go of because of his severe alcoholism. I wish he could develop the way of thinking and motivation that you have gained. He is in a place of depression and self harm and unfortunately it is a self journey to recover from that. So happy for you that you’ve made it out of your dark place and strive more everyday. You’re amazing!

I've never been diagnosed with BPD, but I related to some of the things you said. I've been struggling with depression since 3rd grade, and it got really bad when I was 17 and a sophomore in college. I ended up having to drop out of all of my college classes and didn't finish my degree because I was so extremely depressed and suicidal. I also resonated with what you said about when you have friction with anyone in public, it ruins your entire day. When I was working, if a customer said something rude to me, it negatively impacted my whole week. I'm currently taking a break from working because the interactions with rude customers really drained me and even made me question being alive again.

You being open about this is incredible, strong and one of the most powerful, beautiful things a human can do. Your story is almost absolutely similar to mine. I literally dropped my jaw when you started talking about your experience in college. A much, much more real authentic story than what most people tell about their fitness journeys. I was just like you, but I have come a very long way and now sober, in therapy, healthier. I only to be as open as you are and an advocate for mental health, physical health and sobriety. You are so beautiful and strong and your healing radiates all around you 🤍✨

Mari! You are amazing!!! Thank you so much for sharing your incredible journey. And thank you for being so candid and vulnerable about the importance of mental health. It's not always easy to own our stuff, but owning it and optimizing it will set you free to be the best version of yourself. I just found you yesterday and have been binge-watching your videos! Your information is awesome and I love that you stress the importance of the journey (it's a lifestyle change) and the fact that it takes time and isn't a "one size fits all" approach. As a culture, we are constantly bombarded with myriad products that make false claims or come with unrealistic expectations. It's easy to get sucked in and get involved with bogus products. I love your content and your realistic approach to health, well-being and fitness! You are so awesome and deserve the very best! I know you will continue to do great things!

I love this so much. It seems like if you have a mental health issue, you have to be falling apart or healed. When really, it’s always with you but it doesn’t define you, it’s just part of the overall story. I think that is a lot of us and we need to hear these stories more!❤

Thank you so much for sharing. I recently purchased some of your supplements when I saw some of your social marketing and how some of the items were “clean” best sellers. I am loving my greens and fish oil, and now I’m really proud that I purchased in support of an amazing woman with such a massive story. I feel better connected to these products and will continue to purchase them in support of everything you’ve done and have become. Thank you so much for being transparent.
