When I hear Konstantin pushing back so hard on Caolan for refusing to actively call India he/him, it feels weird. I've been trying to extend people the benefit of the doubt, but increasingly it feels like people who seem reasonable about these issues actually just find trans people disgusting and want them to go away, and don't actually want to compromise or figure out how we can all live together respectfully.

My daughter just returned home from the hospital for a severe bout of endometriosis, a debilitating female issue for which no one would wish for. Trans females are telling females that we can’t gatekeep menstruation. It’s completely unacceptable and out of hand. It shows how insane this ideology has become. The ER doctor said this issue that impacts approximately 10% of women of menstruation age. Funding is meanwhile filtered away from this debilitating female issue to people who feel like they are in the wrong body. Women and women’s issues are being swept under the rug for the sake of people’s feelings, and enough is enough.

My daughter is 9. She has started going to the toilet alone (without her mother). I'm talking about public restrooms, like in service stations. I am relieved to know that she is not going to a toilet that she has to share with biological men. And 99% of all fathers and mothers will agree with me that a visit to the toilet must be safe for woman and especially for young girls. There is more than one side to this coin.

What do you mean? Men can now use pretty much any toilet that they like, because bullying from the trans lobby has made people afraid to kick them out of female-only spaces. Thus, I wouldn't be so sure that your daughter is safe in women-only toilets or changing rooms.

​@@MMChoza I'm not transgender myself, but I've been homeless while suffering from undiagnosed coeliac disease. Among other things, this causes severe diarrhoea. At times I found my self at public toilets where the men's cubicles were full as well as the disabled or even not having the disabled facility. The only option then is either call out to the female toilets "is anyone in there" plead my case or find a female to check, then go in, or shit myself. Living in constant fear of this you don't stray far from a toilet, but you can't always depend on a vacant men's cubicle. On another occasion I was crossing the parklands and found a convenient pair of toilet blocks set up for an adjacent visiting circus. I needed to go and as I approached I noticed what I thought was a woman go into the further block. I was a bit tipsy and assumed that the closer block must be the men's. The signage wasn't so obvious and I assumed (falsely) that I was going into the men's. Halfway through my deed the circus intermission began and the toilets got inundated with female voices. I waited for about another 20 minutes before it all went quite to escape. Sometimes a guy in a ladies loo is just making an innocent mistake, or has an emergency to deal with. Just saying is all.

The problem is deeper than speech though. The problem is that a small section of society with a mental health issue is bullying the rest of society into acting as if denying that men or women are biologically different is the treatment for them- insane.

I am a woman. If someone repeatedly called me a man, I'd think they're a bit silly, I'd probably laugh at it at first, I might think the joke is a bit old and get annoyed after a while, but I'd never feel the need to report them to the police or make a big deal out of it. It wouldn't influence my life one bit, outside of thinking that person is ridiculous and probably not interacting with them much... Maybe it's because I don't need to prove my womanhood to anyone. I've 2 boys aged 12 & 9 - if either were gay it wouldn't change how I feel about them. Who they love is who they love - if either come and said they were a girl I'd be really worried. Calling a trans person "them" is not being neutral in their eyes because you're making the decision not to bow to their will. This is the biggest problem I have with trans. They can't be happy unless everyone else goes out of their way for them. Well too bad. I'd say the same thing I tell my kids - you can't control what others say or do, so all you can do is become resilient so that they don't bother you. It's sad that this is a new lesson for grown adults. Calling the police on someone who "misgenders" you is almost as insane as anyone taking that seriously.

Caolan Robertson is a naive, ill informed individual who meddled in an issue he had no business interfering in. He’s demonstrably ill equipped to be doing anything too serious until he’s done more work on educating himself. He has no business starting anything new until he does this work.

I have been trying to listen to the arguments...I haven't understood anything. Am I the only one? What I have gleaned from this: Some transperson claims to be a woman, a woman says that person isn't...the Scottish law says that if we suggest that a man isn't a woman it is hate crime...rapists say they are women and end up in women's prisons and this guy is trying to make a bit of cash. Have I got it right?

Journalists do background research and report BOTH sides of an issue, giving each equal weight and let their viewers draw conclusions from the evidence. This man is not a journalist as he failed to do background research and only presented one side of an argument, quite literally. He then had the temerity to jump in at the deep end and defend this behaviour on Twitter, still not understanding the full issue. And then further goes on to say that other media outlets aren't doing "real journalism". This just reads as lazy arrogance, to be honest.

Seems like this guy is extraordinarily naive and clearly very new to this debate. The truth has to be spoken, otherwise you become just the thin end of the wedge, leading to the big lie. It’s the hottest topic, because misogyny is endemic in our society. This man is VERY NAIVE!

I have no idea who this guy is, but I love how he embarrasses himself.

What surprised me is how ill informed this guy is on so much.

I think that this is a debate between Women and Narcissists. Not many women can enter this space as a debater. Rowling has to defend herself but she is actually doing a Woman’s fight, not simply a personal fight.

Someone doing a u turn from harassing people in the street with Tommy Robinson to being an activist for the left, strikes me as being a grifter.

I took a spade from the store, I take it home and I cut sections off and manipulate the metal into forming it into a different shape. It looks like a digging fork, for anyone could tell and for all functional means it was a digging fork. However, if I go back to the store, to the counter and the clerk scans the barcode it will still say "Spade". Don't be afraid to call a spade a spade.

At least this guy was honest about his own shortcomings. Taking on JK Rowling was obviously a stupid thing to do because she's a formidable character and intellectually in a different league. As even the Scottish government found out after implementing their ridiculous and unworkable Hate Crime law. It has many similarities to Jordan Peterson's confrontation due to Canada's C-16 bill.

He seems entirely disingenuous in his explanation. He didn't know about the toxicity of the trans debate? As a journo?? And then talks about how people fall into chasing click's but doesn't seem to include himself in that category although that's clearly what he did with his interview with that bloke India

If he cut off his penis and removed his testicles and prostate then he can call himself a "trans woman". But he cannot be a woman as his biology at birth is male. If he did not have his gonads removed then he is simply a man pretending to be a woman. He's not even a trans woman.

Do students get taught about history anymore, particularly World War 2? If they did, they would exercise caution about regarding someone who has a different opinion as non-human and therefore given freedom to treat them badly. it is the same as words like "needs to be reeducated" and new hate speech laws, that require people to snitch on each other to police. It all sends shivers down my spine, because I do remember the history I was taught in school regarding Nazi Germany. I also think the ice-berg analogy regarding the trans debate is very clever. Often people who oppose it, oppose it because they have done a lot of research and are talking about the whole ice-berg (e.g. trans-surgery, or puberty blockers and hormones for children who are too young to make huge life changing decisions, trans-men in women's prisons, women's sports being taken over by trans, etc), when people who are "for it" are just thinking about pronouns and being rude.

A guy in Germany tried to get his date of birth changed on his birth certificate to charm younger ladies. People are motivated to pretend to be something other than they are. So yep, we can't even trust birth certificates. In the US, I believe there are places where they now wait to put sex on the birth certificates.

Interesting when he said, “never be allowed to make news again”. He clams to be a Journalist, but is making, not reporting, news.
