I love Yorktown as she is a kind and caring person especially towards enterprise and your right about the pass skin it's really nice and definitely suits her

She's in my list of "Ships that must be pampered" because *I can and I will*

I always did love her 2nd anniversary song, her backstory is one of my favorites.

They say Enterprise will haunt you if you let any of her sister purposefully damaged so keep that in mind

Yorktown was my first wifu and I have never regretted oathing her.

HELL YEAH! Been waiting for this for more than a year. What needs to be said about Yorktown is that she suffered a lot from power creep. When the game was at its beginning, she was one of the most powerful carriers out there, and her skill was really nice in PVP too. But then they added more and more ships with better and better skills to the point that Yorktown, while once an MVP, now is not that great in comparison. Also she's the one true expy of Irisviel von Einzbern, so there's that.

I have a special feeling towards Yorktown uwu She is one of my two first Aircraft Carriers. And she even got the MVP sometimes

A word of note to anyone looking to waifu Yorktown. Keep her away from any "grape juice" that may or may not have been provided by a certain green cat.

I absolutely love Yorktown, she's always been one of my go to carriers since I started playing the game, and she as my second ever 120. When I finally decided to oath her I knew that I would never regret it, she's just a top tier waifu, an extremely sweet and nice girl who's gone through hell and only wants a commander who will be there to support her and who she can depend on. I'm a strong advocate for people giving love to the Cranes, and Takaos, but I put Yorktown right up there as well.

A cool mechanic that Yostar could introduce could be an Eagle Union experiment, where Yorktown gets some kind of super-retrofit where Yorktown finally heals from her wounds, her rigging is swapped out to that of an Essex-class, and her rarity would go up to gold. That way, we could satisfy the RL historical events of the original USS Yorktown (CV5) and the Essex-class USS Yorktown (CV10), while also explaining having two ships of the same name, instead of just having one replace the other. Yorktown would become SSR, we would get another Essex-class, and it could be a cool way of keeping Yorktown as a kansen shipgirl character, while still satisfying RL WW2 events. This super-retrofit could also apply to Hornet and Lexington as well in the future, giving the mechanic a little more life than just one ship.

The lead ship of the Yorktown-class becomes a little sister of her successor: Essex. How does this make any sense?

@@Yorkington Because you're looking at it wrong. Yorktown as a kansen would get Essex-class rigging, and gain SSR rarity. The tie to the past is in the name, not in the class. This would also preserve Yorktown as a character, and create more opportunity for plot, instead of just making another ship. It's better, more creative, and more interesting than just having a bunch of ships with the same name running around.

@@bimmerbomber2002 I disagree. It does not make sense at all. CV-10 has a history of her own. It would be insulting to have CV-5 claim CV-10's history as hers. Besides, Yorktown's character is preserved anyways, she's not dead but resting in the CONUS according to New Jersey's event from the CN servers. It would be more interesting to have both CV-5 and CV-10 around in port, anyways.

That cutscene after stage 3-4 will always remind us the beauty of Yorktown.

One of the icons of USN Damage Control. Her DC crews were so good, that the IJN thought they were attacking one of the other two undamaged carriers during the Battle of Midway... The low HP heal part of her Vengance skill is a reference to her damage control crews. Also during the Battle of the Coral Sea some Japanese planes tried to land on her... Also RIP YorkBRUH chibi...

Yorktown is a bit good in OP siren or at least in my opinion she does a decent amount of damage and pairs nicely with warspite and new jersey

Not going to lie she was my first Oathed character. She was my go to carrier for a long time alongside Illustrious until Enterprise was pulled. Plus the ending of her receive statement always gets me: "Neutrality? That's just a pre-war courtesy."

Facts Time! USS Yorktown or the Yorktown Class, along with Her Sisters are probably the most Well Known and Famous Fleet Carriers of the USN in the Early Days of the Pacific War all up to Midway, and are the Only Carriers the USN have in yhe Pacific, alongside Saratoga and Lexington, of the Lexington Class Carriers, Yorktown, before the Tide Turning Battle of Midway Fought alongside Lexington at the Coral Sea, to which Ended with the Incapacitation of Lexington and Her Scuttling, Yorktown and Her Crew Did all they Can to save their Fellow Carrier, but the Damages were to Severe, in the End all they Can Do is Save the Surviving Crew Memebers, hence her Closed Relationship sith Lexington In Game, the Battle of the Coral Sea also Took away One Destroyer, Hammann's Older Sister; Sims. After the Battle of the Coral Sea, Yorktown has Suffered Severe Damages that Needed Several Months to Repair to get Her to Green Fighting Condition, it was later said the She at least needed 2 Weeks to be Sea Worthy Again, after an Inspection, She has a Gaping Hole on Her Flight Deck, but Fleet Admiral Nimitz Ordered she be Ready in 48 Hours/2 Days, and that She was, That Gaping Hole was Patched and Other Necessary Repairs where Done, she was Brand New in a Way, to the Point that the Jap High Command Though she was a Different Carrier, as Jap High Command Thought She Sunk in The Battle of The Coral Sea, Sadly Her Super Boilers were Damaged Limiting Her Speed, Hence why she has Low Evasion in Game. In Midway, Along side Her Sisters and Task Force 16, Met the Japanese 1st Carrier and 2nd Carrier Division and their Escorts, and the Climactic Battle for Midway Begun. During the Battle She Aided in the Crippling of IJN Soryuu, she Later Suffered Serve Damages Once Again from 2 Seperate Air Attacks, Her Flight Deck was on Fire, but Damage Control waw Fast to Respond, they Did Repairs on Her as Quickly as Possible, and She was Brand New Once again, that a Third Air Attack, from IJN Hiryuu, mistook her for another Carrier that Joined the Fight, and This they Descended on to Her, Yorktown Scrambled her Fighters and Available Aircraft to Counter them, this is Most Likely a Basis for Her Vengeance Ability to Repair and Send off an Air Attack in Game, but that Third Air Attack Crippled Her, but she was Still Afloat, USS Hammann was there to Assist Her, Especially in Getting Her Out to Safety's, as she can Still be Saved, as She So Stubbornly Refused to Sink, hence why Hammann is so Close to Yorktown, but the Final Nail on the Coffin was a Torpedo Shot from I-168, said Sub also Sunk Hammann, hence why they are Hostile Towards Each other in Game, Yorktown Went Down in the Battle of Midway, alongside Hammann, the Only Warship Casualties of the Battle. After the Chaotic Carrier on Carrier Duel, during the Hunt for Hiryuu, the Last Carrier in Battle, Yorktown's Aircraft and Fighter Wings that Survived, and are now Under the Care of Either Enterprise or Hornet, Mostly Enterprise, upon Knowing where Hiryuu Was, the Killer of their Mother Ship, They Thirst for Vengeance, and They're the First to Strike Back at Hiryuu, and Strike Back Hard they Did, They Assisted in Damaging and Sinking Her, this can also be the Basis for Her Vengeance Ability, where she Sends an Air Attack when Low on Health. Later on She was Reincarnated as CV-10 Yorktown, of the Essex Class Carriers. Its also Worth Pointing out that Her Low Aviation is Due to the Fact, maybe, that Early into the Battle of Midway, She lost a Lot of Aircraft in the Initial Attack, also Her low AA is Mostly Due to the Fact Her Demise was Caused by Aircraft, or is the Main Cause of Her Demise, the Torpedo was just a Kill Securing Shot. Lastly Her High Health pull is Mostly Because of Her Stubbornness to Sink in the Battle of the Coral Sea, and for Tanking 2 Seperate Air Attacks, 3 if you Count the Other Air Attack that Crippled Hee, but she was Still Afloat. Hee Fleet Carrier Ability is Most Likely due to the Fact she and Her Sisters, are Purpose Built Fleet Carriers, and she's The Proud Lead Ship. Yorktown in Game is a Cinnamon Roll, that is Mostly Sad and Depressed Like, most likely due to her Past, and She does her Best to Not be Close to the Admiral/Commander, preferring a Superior and Subordinate Relationship... But we all Know that is Not Happening, at least to those who Care about Her. She Deserves all the Love she Gets and Receives, and *More!* That Smile of Hers, must be Protected at *All Cost!* She's Currently one of my Powerful Mob Back Liners, to which I use in Grinding, she may not Have Flashy Abilities or the Most Awesome History and Background, but shes a Reliable Aircraft Carrier and a Loving Big Sister to Enterprise and Hornet, she's a Waifu worth Investing on and Loving! Remember to Give Her lots if Love and Attention Commanders/Admirals... You wont Regret it and wont be Disappointed! more or less meta ship will have similar stats with the original highest rarity just like Fusou meta that have similar stats with her retrofit stats (elite rarity after retrofit, not rare rarity pre-retrofit) lest just hope she got her retrofit first before the meta came released.

I Remember being new and building an all carrier fleet, and Yorktown and Long island where the interchangeable flagships.

Awesome job, and yep i agree waifu over meta Yorktown was my first lv100, 110, 120(when those were lv caps) and now 125 ship. Here is hoping that her Meta version is solid and maybe someday she also gets a retro. if not that is fine, I will still keep using her.

She deserves more love.

Her BP skin really is great, I loved it too. Another one I hope to also get a cute skin with a bright smile is Arizona. She's always so sad, and Penn is soo serious, so I hope they get a bit more attention and new skins. With the BP, looks like they are giving some attention to girls that are a bit forgotten, so I'm quite happy with that, I just wish it was 2 skins instead of a single one. Maybe in the future.

In many wys, she was a great pick or EN's pre-reg freebie as her kit does well with a newbie commander. But she is very much a victim of her unit age as 125%x3 isn't a great set of CV efficiencies. She is however far more fortunate than Glorious there.

She's will have her meta form soon. If we're following the trend. Meta ships (not the Battle pass metals) have retrofits. She might have one day.

Yeah, though their Essex versions are likely gonna be their Retrofit. I mean they did that to Laffey so why not Yorktown, Hornet and Lexington

I feel that the Yorktown sisters (Yorktown, Enterprise, and Hornet) should have stronger dive bombers. Historically, Yorktown's as a class ran a 2/2/1 mix of fighters/bombers/torpedo bombers, and started the war with a 1/2/1 mix and a lot of spare planes. They added an extra fighter squadron after the Battle of Coral Sea (and more AA guns) and had the F4F's faults demonstrated to them. Also, it was always the Yorktown's bombers that turned the tide (killing Shoho, Akagi, Kaga, Soryu, and Hiryu, as well as crippling Shokaku) in the first two of the major carrier engagements of WW2.

She along with Bismarck and Arizona (for the wrong reason) were the first warships I knew about. Then again for Arizona just about everyone knows about her due to image of her smoldering remains being plastered in history books when it comes to the topic of Pearl Harbor.

For me, Yorktown, is the first to arrive to 100 and she was the first to awaken, even before Z 23 mi secretary, and she is in mi main fleet, with the best planes i could equip, i have hornet and even when Hornet is a secretary, i love the personality of both, one is caring and tender, the other is happy and make you happy

One of my good friends is cosplaying her at an upcoming convention this month, complete with rigging and a Dauntless dive bomber.

I must say, from those 3, I prefer Hornet. A lot. Way more than the other 2. I wish they would add a Retrofit for both Yorktown and Hornet though, which gives them elements of their Essex counterparts

It's sad, enterprise has a depressing loner backstory, the AL community as a whole treats her like shit, you WILL get mocked and teased for liking a character that "dies" in game (thanks r\azurlane) And they have to force a "sad" personality on her because of this "1 note per girl" harem bs.
