She changed my game entirely, and has become my favorite ship by far. She's singlehandedly carried me through a lot of content, and was the biggest reason I managed to clear 13. By far my most used girl!

She's one of my most powerful destroyers as well, totally unchallenged among my DD's until I fully developed my Yuudachi Retrofit, and she's fought so much that she built up 3 million EXP at level 125 and now can no longer gain any EXP when she sorties.

I oathed Shimakaze with that ring we got from the voting, and man she lets you touch her ears with that adorable smile of hers. The line before oathing is (Mweeehhh... Please, d-don't touch my ears! It makes me shooo weak... Aaaahh...), and after oathing is(Mweeehhh).

The le fantasque class lost their speed after their refit and reclassification as s light cruiser in 1943. That makes Shimakaze the fastest destroyer.

@@Deilwynna Taskent sanked in 1942 before the le fantasque even went for retrofiting in the US.

The Shimakaze in in Azure Lane matches the real IJN Shimakaze, a unique one off ship of the Imperial Navy. She was the fastest IJN ship (40 knots) and had the largest torpedo armament (15 tubes of the excellent 24 inch "Long Lance" torpedoes in three turrets), but like a lot of IJN ships she was sunk by allied air power.

Very cute bunny... But Laffey is still my favorite bun. Especially with that opening lol (man I really need to get Crosswave) Also, good choice on skin. Leipzig is lethal levels of adorable in her maid skin...

Was worried about ya Hawk, but glad to see from your other video that you are getting better! As for the video, I initially wasn't a fan of Shimikaze when I played Azur Lane Crosswave, Suruga was more interesting to me (still is xD) but as I played thru that game she warmed up to me more and I did like her. She was also mad busted with that damage boost she gave your fleet! I was wondering when they'd both make their way to Azur Lane itself proper and was so happy when Suruga made it in, but I wish they'd give her a bit of a buff as while I'll still use her, when push comes to shove there are just way too many BBs that outclass her. As for Shimikaze, I sadly missed out in her. I was severely burnt out of AZL as I was playing it way too much and started unconsciously treating it like a job. I k ow it being a gacha game you kinda get out of it what you put into it. But yeah, recently back to playing and hate that I missed out on her, New Jersey and the Micro Medely rerun Dx. I do love the art for her AZL look as, as it's VERY elaborate and imo tied with Yuudachi as making a Destroyer look awesome that wasn't dependent on a skin. As it is, Destroyers are overall my least fav Ship type. With only Z23, Laffey and Ayanami are 120 or above. Currently back to leveling Tashkent & Allen Sumner though and starting Ibuki. But yeah, I just love my CL and CA s way too much xD Thankfully as a Iron Blood main'ish or Mainz if you would ;P, I didn't miss out on the Uldrich Event and got her. Anyways, hope you get even better and hang in there.

I’m so glad Shimakaze was added to the game. Been wanting her since I started playing Crosswave in 2020. It did surprised me that Yostar didn’t used her old art sprite from that game, but then we wouldn’t have gotten her as a UR ship if they did went on to use it.

I got Shimakaze's bunny skin when it was first release. It is truly amazing her head pat line. It feels like to me that her head pet line is like a second special touch line or is it her true special touch line? Something to ponder about.

She's my go-to main destroyer when I need a single top tier destroyer in my fleet. Given that she's already lvl 125 and oathed, and holds my best destroyer gear...you may understand why. I usually run her in my boss fleet and my exercise fleet.

Her torpedo damage is crazy when you max her ability and equip and max enhance the UR torpedo. I also got her L2D skin

PoiKai is more a hybrid DD To put it simply, she's a Sakura DD to surpass Ayanami (Crosswave wasn't kidding) also an honorary starter.

Actually, it’d be Le Terrible, Le Malin, and Charles Ausburn... The French currently have the two fastest ships in the game (by EVA at least), third *might* be Shimikaze, or Javelin (Her skills), second is Le Malin, first is Le Terrible

Nice review. Will you also be doing another video of the story so far with OS Chapter 5 and the recent Tower of Transcendence event, or gonna wait for more stuff to be revealed?

I love her voice and her absurd early barrage. Would be a no-brainer for me to use if I wasn't an Ironblood loyalist. Sakura will probably be the second faction I put time and effort into if I run out of Ironblood ships to level.

Funny you mention WarCorgi and her skill because I think Corgis are hunting dogs (I believe) and rabbits are the favored prey while hunting.. Correct me if I am wrong.

I nearly lost my mind trying to get Shimakaze. Think I got to about pull 195 before finally getting her on the last day. I was basically completely out of gold and cubes too. Great waifu, great torpedo bote, I approve.

I put kawakazi in the same fleet who buffs destroyer guns against cruisers

So i run shimakaze with the british 533mm torpedos which essentially shoot all 5 in a straight line, in addition to double oxy torps. And oh boy Opsi bosses have not been having fun when 40% of their health disappears within 3 seconds of starting the fight (except arbiters those things are unkillable lol) Also: bunny skin headpat animation is amazing. Worth the gems

from what i have seen, with the right Fleet Shimakaze has some if not the highest dmg output in the game

At the momet I don't think Shimakaze can get a torp reload lower than 10s, but she can get close. This ofcourse requires a tot al meme fleet and alot of other stuff. First Oath Shima for the stat boost, then Give her autoloaders. For a further boost, level 18 specific destroyers to lvl 120 and max fleet tech for the eagle union. This brings Shima's reload stat to around 356. Then put her in a fleet with Mikasa (as flagship), Akashi (or Unicorn), Jintsuu and Naka or Sendai. From thir skills Shima gets total +70% reload, bringing her total reload up to 606. Then equip her with the fastest reloading torpedo, the french twin 550mm, that has a base reload time of 19,42s when maxed. With her more than decent RLD stat and the baguette launcher, Shimakaze can launch torpedoes every 10,3s To bring her over the edge, they would only need to release a torpedo with base reload speed of 18,7s. Alternatively they could release a ship, that is capable of buffing Shima an addtional 20%, as there are only 2 main fleet ships that can buff her, without skill conflict.

My Shima got a well deserved ring. The moment I got her, she carried my ass up to 12/4 and and all the event content so far. Remember, headpats only.

You can. It'll make her torpedoes nasty. Just remember her health isn't very high, so make sure you've got some sort of damage control if you find her taking a lot of damage.

Shimakaze is so busted I don't think we'll ever receive a stronger torp destroyer. I think they may have actually given us the top of the top in terms of torpedo damage.

I have a slight idea of a semi-accurate their list of the "strongest" ships in game... 1st is Ranger... or basically, any aircraft carrier that can chain attack (I’ve only got 4) And I also need to figure out how FP to damage works... 920-1040 FP is impressive, but I don’t know how much damage that is... Same with Torpedo stat... The list will consider different factors..., but some ships guaranteed to be on there are 1. Champagne, 2. Ulrich Von Hütten, 3. Jean Bart, 4. New Jersey... This is only for Main fleet though... I have nowhere near enough information about vanguards, and I don’t have most of them either...

Firepower and Torpedo are a bit more complicated. They don't translate 1 to 1 in terms of damage output. There's a lot of factors to it. Firepower or Torpedo Weapon Base Damage Efficiency Level Advantage Ammo Buff/Debuff Manual Aim Bonus Armor Modifier/Ammo Type Active Damage Debuffs Active Damage Buffs These are just some I can think of off the top of my head. The formula itself looks complicated, but it really isn't too difficult once you look it over.
