Another great habit is the 1-2 minute rule. If your task will take only 1-2 minutes, just do it. Don't put it on a list or otherwise procrastinate. Taking care of small things throughout the day can add up to significant accomplishment in the long term.

I found when I was working that I would have more energy after work, than on my days off. She's right about that. Some days, I did the shopping straight after work, cooked, cleaned up, and then went to the gym around 9pm. Retired now, no pressure, and it's hard to get up to do things some days.

I just got my office/desk cleaned up! It's been a disaster for weeks and today I told myself I'm gonna do it. I just grabbed piles of stuff and sorted it, throwing papers at the shredder, stacking items to file or recycle, and stacked other items to put away. When there was a pile to leave the room, I left and came back to sort through another pile. I now have papers to file and a box of to-do's for tomorrow. Now that I can see the room, the bookshelves are next. It's also VERY handy to keep the shredder in your office, not the ice cold garage.

Timers have been helpful to me lately! Not because I need the motivation necessarily, but because I am type a and I can clean and organize forever until I'm having a panic attack, literally. My life can become consumed by cleaning and trying to make the whole house perfect which is futile. It helps me to set a 20 minute timer and clean/organize for only that amount of time and then I make myself breathe deeply and switch activities for a while. Its especially helpful bc i am pregnant and nesting. It makes me feel like a more well rounded person and i enjoy my days so much more when i dont allow myself to clean all day long!

I guess on the weekends, when I get up, I need to set a timer to get started on my tasks needed to be done. I usually save the laundry for the weekend but I can do other things in the mean time. I also try to help my sister as she is disabled. Her husband helps her a lot but he works hard and still manages to go home cook and clean. I’m just trying to help take a bit of a load off of him. At least he’s helping her too. I love crafting and like to fine time for that too. Just not enough hours in a day!!! I wish we could go to a 4 day work week. Ok, enough of my rambling! 😊

I really like your planner, but I would prefer a daily one! I don't mean this at all as a "critique" but as a "I love it so much please make this an option" :) I hope this doesn't come off as rude because I can't imagine the amount of work you put into it! I would just be overwhelmed by seeing my other blocks in the weekly section (I have a daily blocking planner now but might prefer yours) :)

I do 2 minutes of steps then 2 minutes of work. Short Burt’s, but the job gets done and I get my steps!

My son has adhd and I found I can't say clean your room. What works for him is one task. Get the dirty laundry out then put the pillows and stuff back on your bed, then pick the Legos up etc and I swear he can get what looks look a hurricane disaster is fixed in half an hour and why do I not apply that to myself? I have no idea. The kitchen is a mess so I don't break it down I look at it and then walk away like the cleaning fairy will come in and do it. Then night time hits and I'm like I want to go to sleep but I can't make lunches tomorrow because it's a mess so I begrudgingly clean the kitchen

Jw… what time do you go to sleep if you’re setting an alarm for 4:50. I’ve been a chronic nightowl all of my life and would just give anything to be able to do what you do.

😅Oh ya…. A Timer is my friend. Brain dump is awesome! It helps me get rid of masses of messages. I will forget what I need to think and do. Let it go!! Just like a frozen thoughts,, let it go and write it down and let the paper worry about it.

When I sit down in the evening to watch tv with my husband I become like a slug. I feel really tired. If I make myself get up and do something, I feel much better.
