Thank you for your leisurely walking pace, which allows we viewers to take it all in. Can’t tell you how many garden “tours” I’ve seen where there’s barely time to focus the eyes before the camera speeds off to another view. Great garden tour, thanks!

In the Father’s Garden, those plants look like epimediums otherwise also known as bishops hat or barrenwort. I love them because the dainty flowers look like fairies.

First, thank you for respecting the privacy of the private residence. Second, thank you for your enthusiasm. Your appreciation of the repetition, which I believe helps calm our minds, giving us the opportunity to to really appreciate the plants. All of the interesting twists and turns, accentuated by repeating plants, textures and colors. Thank you for helping me realize that I can create this feel with the very plants that I have available to propagate or purchase. It is so easy to get caught up in the fancy new thing, or the hard to grow varieties, but I can choose to be creative and purposeful with what I have available.🙏💗

At 8:48, is an epimedium, possibly ‘Lilafee’. I have two fringe trees, one is about 20-25 years old and the other one is about 7 yo. Mine are in full bloom and when I open my back door, I’m greeted with the most wonderful fragrance! The oldest one is multi trunked and the younger one is a single but has branching quite low. I highly encourage you to get one - you won’t regret it! The dove tree is lovely but beware, they drop a lot of mess. My city planted them as street trees downtown and that was quite an unfortunate decision. Thank you for sharing the beauty of this garden along with your enthusiasm. I can’t decide which was my favorite area but the woodland garden really spoke to me while the green walk had me gasping at all the beautiful plants along the way.

Thank you for the tour - what a lovely space!! The ferns with the silvery/burgundy foliage are Japanese Painted Ferns. The lovely shade plant with heart-like leaves is an epimedium. They are a perennial hardy to our zone (6B) and they get tiny orchid like flowers - just stunning! The rose arbor in the middle island reminds me of Hummingbird Way!

I adore the way the arborvitae/columnar evergreens draws you down that green path from the beginning. It's like they're arrows pointing the way! The spring breeze & dappled light make it lushly inviting! The plantings are superb, with just enough of a wild side to feel utterly natural, but thoughtfully planted & manicured to feel cohesive. And then it opens up to the house-side formal gardens! The woods walk shows the importance of mature trees giving structure, & a river walk too? Stunning!

So inspirational, thanks for taking us along! The fringe tree is my favorite native blooming tree. I have several in my garden and the scent is heavenly when the cloud like white blooms are in their full glory. Then afterward it forms purple, grape like fruit that the birds love, ours bloomed a full month earlier this year, usually in our 7b zone they bloom at the end of May.
