Today I headed to the old town of Bangkok (Rattanakosin) to sample two incredible Thai street food dishes in one area. I want to help you find authentic Thai street food wherever you are staying in Bangkok by giving you these little DIY food tours in every area of the city.
Bangkok can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time visiting as it's so big, so I thought I'd do some videos to help break it down into sections so you can get some awesome street food wherever you go.
I’m taking you to what I consider to be the best value seafood restaurant/street food stall in Bangkok which could also well be my number one street food find of all time in Bangkok. First though we’ll be stopping at a top 5 Khao man gai (chicken rice) for sure called Jack’s!
At Hiso Curry Rice Pa Aew, you are going to find ridiculously cheap seafood, especially given the size and freshness of the crab and prawns on offer. This price to quality ratio cannot be beaten in my humble opinion!

Jack used to have a counter in a newly opened hawker centre on the edge of Chinatown which was closed doen due to the ’situation’. He’s now out on the streets cooking better than ever Khao man gai so please get out and support him and local businesses like his 🙏

That Khao man gai rice looked special, it's rare you get it with so much care.
Just visited Jack. Khao num gai is fantastic and what a wonderful person. The sauce is to die for, let alone the rice and chicken! FYI Jack does a combo boiled and fried chicken with rice so you dont have to buy two. 50 baht! Cannot believe it. Jack told me about the ingredients in the sauce but I'm not going to share as you have to try it yourself and not make it at home! Paid him 100 anyway! Thanks for the tip Gary! Best streetfood I've had in Bangkok so far!
Thank you Gary for introducing Hiso to us. It is one of the BEST curry rice in Bangkok. So value for money. No frills. We had the two crab dishes, two of the huge prawn dish and also the fried groupa fish with sweet chili sauce. Amazing.

Khao Man Kai ,that is one of my favorite thai dishes,I like that sauce,but it has to be very spicy for me.Gary the chicken is not boiled but steamed.cozy neighborhood there in the old part.crab cake also one of my favorite. seafood always the best in thailand

I went to the Khao Man Gai place when I waiting for Auntie Pien’s noodles and it was soooo good! So happy that his place was in this video! Also I did manage all three in one day when I was there in August - but I was with my girlfriend!
