Old Town Bangkok THAI STREET FOOD TOUR 🌶🍜 Best Tom Yum Khaosan/Banglamphu Area - ฝรั่งกินอาหารไทย
Today I headed to the old town of Bangkok (Phra Nakhon/Banglamphu) to sample four Thai street food dishes in one area. I want to help you find authentic Thai street food wherever you are staying in Bangkok by giving you these little DIY food tours in every area of the city.
A lot of people have been asking me what the difference is between kuay teo tom yum and tom yum koong so I thought I'd take you to Bang Lamphu in Bangkok's old town to show you the difference.
Bang Lamphu is best known for being home to the infamous backpacker street - Khaosan Road but there is far more to this area than that. If you head a couple of streets over, to Thanon Kraisi, you'll find one of the best Tom Yum soups you could hope to have anywhere in Bangkok.
Walk 10 minutes round the corner and you'll find Jae Pui Fluffy Pork Noodle, a third-generation shophouse selling some excellent tom yum noodle soup with bouncey handmade moo ding meatballs.
Bangkok's Chinatown can be a bit overwhelming if it's your first time in Bangkok as it's so big, so I thought I'd do some videos to help break it down into sections so you can get some awesome street food wherever you go.

My name’s Gary and I’ve been living in Bangkok for the past five plus years and travelling Thailand for over ten. I’m obsessed with Thai street food and it’s that obsession that led me to start this KZread channel. I want to share my favourite hidden spots in Bangkok and the rest of Thailand so you can fall in love with authentic, local Thai food as much as I have!
I’ve never understood travelling to a town or city and not eating the local food. How else do you really connect with a place? Let’s get out and explore together and I guarantee you’ll find a whole different side to this wonderful country.
If you love seeing off the beaten path, non-touristy, local life and authentic local life in Bangkok and Thailand then this is the channel for you. If go go bars on the Sukhumvit Road are more your thing (I’m not judging) then maybe not!

But you’re right, there is NO good food there (although there used to be a couple of nice curry shops on Rambuttri). Brings back many memories of taste and people. The fried garlic is a plus.....difficult to find here in the US, even in Asian market places and supermarkets. I have a small stash I've hoarded for years. But there's nothing like the real thing in the right setting. Best thing was, no farangs, then you know the food is great and fresh.
@pannachawangkul585
2 жыл бұрын
You can make your own Fried Garlic. Be sure you have Food chopper to chop all those cloves of garlic, an electric wok, vegetable oil, and an outside outlet. You don't want to fry it indoor. The smell will permeate your furniture, clothing, hair, etc. Heat the oil on medium to low heat. Put in chopped garlic, stir until golden brown. Turn off the heat. Let it cool before store in a clean glass jar. Should last up to 3 months. If you keep longer than that, the oil could go rancid.

Cor blimey guvna, those prawns in the 2nd joint were proper. All that grub in 1 day though duchess! Mate, you're gonna have to get down to Phrom Phong to burn off those calories lol. Def gonna visit that 2nd place as that style soup was much more up my alley. Also very reassuring to see that even a dirty farang that's fluent in Thai food can still end up with stuff that he didn't even know he was ordering - happens to us all, treacle!

@@theroamingcook Helen haha, she'll have you by the short & curlies for that one! Clams are just too much hassle for me to be bothering with, regardless of your review to be honest

ทั้งทานทั้งกิน , you must be really hungry, 🤭😋
I am from Louisiana in the US, and sucking the heads of crawfish is common, as that's where the best flavor resides. It soaks up the spice more than the tail meat, so it is often super spicy.
