Hello. Thank you for the information. I came here cause I just found one of this machine while cleaning my storage. I didn't know it was here since we bought this house 2 years ago. 😊
Oh this sounds so cool
I just picked up one today, it's so clean! $30.00 dollars. I love your video

How much does it weigh? I'm looking into buying one. Seller says 200lbs. Going to be over $500 to ship freight.
I iron all mine flat after washing...3 passes through my model 88. Left side, right side, down the center. Then fold in half and iron flat. I've found by holding my hands lower and putting a bit of tension on the fabric, the bakelite guide can help you get rid of some of the wrinkling going in under the roller. I bought my aunt's model 88 in the mahogany case on the auction of their household/farm. My cousin said she only ever got good enough to iron her dad's hankys for his pocket...his every day ones, not his Sunday ones! 🤣
So totally sweet presentation!! l love it. I just got a model 85 Ironrite. You are so darling with your warning about the 1950s Ironrite ads and how they address women and the Ironrite. I am a woman and I don't mind the woman as angel of home with magic ironrite one bit but it is so dear to see you take the time to qualify your presentation on this point. Yes--you are right these are made today--Miele makes the 2.5K one but I like how this is in a metal box rather than the adjustable Miele arm.
$25. The sewing shopping god. Looove this. I can see the reason a person may want one....
THis machine is awesome for sheets. Mix up corn starch and water for a final rinse and then run them through the machine while just damp. The sheets will be soooo smooth and crisp. The smell of the corn starch is slightly toasted and sumptuous. That is the height of luxury. You will never want a sheet any other way after trying this. Doing it with a hand iron is possible but tedious. The Ironrite rules!
Awesome tool!
great buy. good for you.
I just found one of these. I want to use it so bad, but it looks like it needs a new cord and some maintains ... I'll have to see if I can find a handy person in my area.
I grew up with my grandmother using an ironrite. As of recently she has passes and I have inherited it. The fabric on the mangler is worn out and needs to be replaced. Where could I get a replacement for it and how is it changed?
Doesn’t it rewrinkle when it gets bunched up underneath?
Silly me. To use this to press fabric pre or post prewashing...like a big duh. I made an ironing surface on top of the mangle and haven't used it in years. Will unearth it and put in another room to actually use again. For lots of pressing and ironing rather than drag out a little bitty iron. THANK YOU! Inherited from MIL.
I have my moms in the basement of her house.
I just got one too! Does yours have a lot of steam coming off? Im scared! LOL
Great video. Are you continuing to use this machine? Is there anything you don't like about it?
love you iron it will save you tons of time. where did you get it?
