I prewash lots of cotton fabric, usually 6 yards at a time prior to cutting & sewing this would absolutely work for me, I'll be looking out for one at estate sales in my area.. thanks for the demonstration ❤

How I wish I lived in a larger space, I would love to have one of those. Ironing is by far not one of my favorite activities, but not becuase of the ironing itself. Only because I have so little an apartment that just getting the board out, and everything set up in the kitchette is more work than the ironing!!! LOL. But one of the best buys I made regarding that was finding one of the old wooden standing ironing boards. Oh my goosh!!! I was lucky, the woman was only asking $10 and she even brought it to me!!! I gave her an addional $5 for her trouble. But let me tell you, it isn't that much heavier than the cheapo ironing boards available today. Except, that I never thought an ironing board could be so incredibly sturdy, strong, and table like! I would never go back to the modern garbage they sell as ironing boards today if I could help it, it would be a major step backwards. And it takes no more space than an ordinary board does. I just fold it up, shove between the fridge and the wall and there it stays. I even purchased a new cover for it to replace the older thinned out one. Oh, that one is still there, beneath the new one as I know it's an antique and would be foolish to throw it away. But I am always so amazed (and disappointed) each time I find something from the long ago past to discover just how much better and long lasting simple household items were made back then. Now I know everything today is made specificaly with planned obscelence in mind. I did my corporate time in NY decades ago. But now the deception is so much more wicked. With the use of computer aided design to creat elegant and sleek perfectly formed appliances, then manufacture them using exceptionally refined robotic plastic extrusion and other machines, everything is made to look far more valuable than it really is. There are no applianced today that are built to last as long as those from four or more decades ago. Yet they look as if they should last twice that. But that is the game. Put more effort in the design and apparence because that if far cheaper to do than to use quality materials, etc. And people unfortunately are attracted to the apparence of quality than the actuality of it.

That's a really neat iron! I've never seen one before. I do not iron sheets. But if I had that iron, I might start.
