My New Rover Can Weld! - Space Engineers "Ship" Tour

Ойындар

Have you ever wished you could use a conveyored welder that moves? This Rover can do that, and more.
I'm taking a look at my latest rover from Sand Castle Industries, my own faction for industrial vehicles. The main focus of this rover was to fit as much practicality into a "Large" (fitting in 3x5x3 LG blocks) size small-grid rover.

I've been working on something similar using scripts, nice to see it done in a more vanilla way

Thanks! The event controller method was a lot of fun to put together. Which script are you using? I've used Tekk's "Cockpit Piston, Rotor & Hinge Controller" and it works really well.

@@vandalvanda I’m a robotics engineer so I like to make my own scripts where possible, I have my own equivalent to that script with my “mechanical keybinds” script but I feel I can do better with an inverse kinematics approach that allows the arm to control like a normal ship, also thinking of adding some inter-grid comms to allow it to operate an inventory manager to auto-draw required repair components, guide the user to damaged areas and possibly even auto-weld it back to health

@@xxbongobazookaxx7170 that sounds really interesting. If you end up publishing it when you’re finished I’d love to take a look.
