In this video, I rescue a common snapping turtle laying on the road and move him to the turtle pond on my property. At the end, I feed my pet alligator gar some shad. Thank y'all for watching!

To be honest, I think the name "Gamera" would be the perfect name. Gamera is a giant, flying, fire-breathing, turtle from a Japanese film studio called Daiei and later/currently Kadokawa who's known as the guardian of the universe. His design most recently looks more like a giant snapping turtle, so it would work well.

As a snapping turtle owner.. I highly recommend getting them as a hatchling. Other then in his aquarium my snapper has been nothing but friendly. Loves to be pet, rubbed like a dog, cuddles with you, is best friends with my cats, and to this day has never bit anyone outside of his aquarium. Yes it takes work. I've held him almost everyday since I've got him. But they can be super awesome pets if worked with from a baby. Otherwise enjoy trying not to get bit if you get them as an older wild turtle. Last little tip, be ready for explosive growth the first year, my boy Winston when from 3/4s of an inch carapace length, to 5 1/2 inches the first year. Good luck!

You don't have to grab them by the tail, it would be the same as grabbing your spine, carry you around and getting the risk of ending up paralyzed. The way you handle them is from the back of their caparace where the legs are, there's enough room for someone to grab them safely and carry them as long as it is a weight you can manage.

@@ithilweenshadowsong8151 grabbing by the tail and twirling like a lasso probably wouldn't be a good thing. Hey, I don't know where the nasty back of that carapace has been. But, the next time you rescue a snapper in speeding traffic, tell us how it went. Once again, so glad your channel is up and running again. I watch every one of your videos. And I'm also glad that you saved that common snapping turtle. I've done that twice before seeing them crawling across busy roads. Also, people think that the alligator snapping turtle is more aggressive than the common snapping turtle and that is not the case. They do get bigger, and they do look fiercer, and they can do more damage if they bite you because they are bigger and stronger. But the common snapping turtle is way more aggressive. You've got to be very careful when you pick them up, just like you did. Job well done, man!

My uncle had a common snapping turtle basically my whole life, from when I was about 5-6 all the way up until a few years ago when my uncle passed away (I'm 35 now). His name was Brutus and he was given away after my uncle passed. I was really bummed about it cause I would have taken him and kept him had they told me they were trying to get rid of him but I didnt know until he was gone :( I do have a video of me picking him up though cause he was SOOO strong and he could climb on anything it seemed. I went over to my uncles place once and Brutus was just chilling on the platform, it seemed dangerous for him to be up there, like how was he going to get down without falling, so I picked him up and put him back in the pond, he was an absolute unit! So be careful with your new buddy.

Brazos!!!!!!! I missed you!!!!!!🥰🥰🥰

Hey, I think Snapper would be a great name the snapping cutie.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
He looks like a 'Fredrick'. 😁
Can we see Odie the catfish and Tank the Turtle again.
When I was little my grandparents lived next to a lake and there was a massive snapping turtle in there that we called Bulldozer Bob I always thought that was a creative name for a snapping turtle.
Those things are mean as heck
How did you capture the Gar from the ponds on your old property? That would have been a cool video to see.

That was exactly what i was gonna ask. Very glad to see them all doing well, but still would have loved to see that as well
Name him thanos, cause he loves a good snap
Its crazy how big those gar have gotten sheesh. This is going to be some fun stuff once they get acclimated to the ponds.
Was not expecting the turtles neck to be that long lol. Cool looking though.
he was so mad at you pushing him but once you got him in the water he went "oop-- this is actually...nice?"

Boxing 😊😊😊😊😊
How about call the turtle "Back Street" and say Back Streets back ALRIGHT when he shows up for a feeding :D
Need to call him Schnappi after the tiny crocodile song. I mean, I know he's not a croc, but he sure seemed Schnappi to me!
I can just hear him as he went in the water saying “weeeeeeee”
Glad to see you popping the videos back out mate, keep them coming ❤
Mr Turtle is already pretty great.
Bro YOU GOTTA CALL IT GAMERA )

Agreed.
OMG IT'S SO COOL ! But I didn't know snapping turtles had such long, funny looking tails 🤣
I think Fluffy would be a fitting name 😂
So lucky i have always wanted a pet snapping turtle. If you raise them young and play with them a lot. they become extremely friendly pets
5 year old says, "Snappy, since he's a snapping turtle."
Dollars to donuts, if that snapper stays in the pond, it won't be long before he's coming up to the bank for shad-snackies~
It’s good to see the gars are doing well!!! And welcome to the new snapping turtle!!! 🙌🥳
Bowers lol. Yay new turtle! Big fella.
Sweet a free snapping turtle. Great start to your turtle pond! I hope you can feed him by hand and hopefully all goes well and happens as well! Loving the videos and now getting up to date on what I missed in the past ! Those gar are awesome and I’m sure they will be happy in their new surrounds soon!
I SHALL CALL YOU, EDWARDO!!!
Awesome.... turtles are back
New property looks awesome!
New content from you is the best Christmas gift ever!
C'mon man, . . . you know the obvious name! JAWS!!!! 🐢
"Sniper" the snapping turtle.🐢🐢 🐢
So awesome you're able to put time and effort in these new ponds! I'm already loving the journey! Can't wait for the gar to go in, and i bet they feel the same way. Best wishes from the Netherlands!
I got 4 hatching Snappers in September. It's crazy how fast they grow. All from the same nest but great difference in size.
i am so glad to see this. if i saw a snapping turtle i would do the same thing.
Just a suggestion. Since it is a holiday season, cookie names would rock. He looks like a snicker doodle to me.
what happened with all the other turtles that you had relocated to the new pond? did you take them back to their original pond?
Snapper would be a fitting name 🐢🐢🐢🐢
He needs an old man name like Elmer or Boris. 🐢 great video.
Would be cool to set up some logs in the middle of the turtle pond!
Aww he reminds me of my female birds.
Call him Chomper. LOL
Ah man the recent uploads have been awesome, it's good to see you're back! Name suggestion -"Hostage" 😂
Now thats what I call a steal lol. Name him Samurai out there in the wilderness by himself
Snappy Comeback Turtle!
Name suggestion: "Snappy pants" Idk why.
I saw another comment saying to name him “gamera” and I just wanted to spread it to more than one comment. Gamera is a great name, it being the name of a giant Godzilla-like turtle.
Name him Snapper! So glad to see your uploads again!
I'd love to see that snapping turtle come up a be hand fed. Might want to rig up a stick to do so.
Cool snapping 🐢, love the alligator gears🙂
Btw I love everything about your channel you don't brag about the things you have and you have everything that people like your doing awesome. Keep up the amazing work 🦞🐊🐟
Gosh I thought about looking you up again after roughly one year just to see you being active again. I love it, hope for more great content like that to come
Awesome addition!
Wow, you're so very lucky.
We need more turtles. Keep it coming Kyle.
Jeff is a good name. 😂
I like that snapping turtle.

The name that I instantly thought was Snappy lol
No more dipping your toes in that pond. ;)
He just casually swims away after ya nudged him in 😅
