There was a local pond where I live that overflowed yesterday. I stopped by just by chance, cause I was going somewhere else. I saw that there was a bunch of baby fish that got trapped in puddles in the parking lot and in the grass. I stayed for two hours trying to save them all. A lot of baby bass.

He had put plants in there I think he just wants them to grow by themselves naturally rather than have him plant the whole ecosystem if that makes sense? The one thing I wish he did was create a more shallow area in the pond rather than the banks being the only shallow part, so the turtles have a little area to congregate when he's feeding them, since right now we only see one or two turtles feeding since the pond is so large.

I highly encourage you to get some softshell turtles for your bass pond!

Might harm the other turtles and bass. The bass could potentially bully them aswell

@@changhome7698 softshells are generally easy going and are not animals that bully. You have a higher likelihood of those sliders bullying that softshells.

Have you considered planting some larger bushes or trees nearby? It could look nice and potentially give some shady areas for the ducks and possibly even fish (if close enough to the ponds) a place to lay low.

To prevent erosion of the space between both ponds you could plant some trees. It would also provide shade for people and animals. You'd have to consider your location in what would work but some willows would be beautiful, provide nice shade you could sit under and just hang out.
