My New Favorite Mod Podge style sealer recipe. A perfect blend of strength and sheen. (AUDIO FIXED!)

While poking around the interwebs I came upon several promising DIY Mod Podge recipes but none of them really worked the way I wanted. Mod Podge is not just glue and water. So I played with the formula and the resulting mixture instantly became my new favorite. I LOVE IT! Have a look and try it out yourself!
* ** PLEASE NOTE!!! Where the recipe reads: 4 oz (1/4 cup) glue that SHOULD BE: 1/2 CUP ** *

5:30 Put some paper towel down between the two containers? or even waste paper. Put them closer together...less chance of drippage then. Not that drippage is a word lol. Thank you so much for sharing this recipe, going to give it a go.

Should that be half a cup of the glue, since a cup is 8 oz? This is awesome; the Minwax sealer comes in various finishes (matte, satin, gloss) so your viewers can select the finish they want :)

YES Lolly! Ugh, I'm going to fire me! Thanks for the heads up . I'll try to correct it. But As it is I have ANOTHER new favorite mizture that I like perhaps MORE - and will post that video soon. Interesting though, that in both my recipes I used Gloss Polycrylic and the result was a fairly matte sheen. (which I like) - I'm going to have to play around with the other finishes and see what they really produce. Oh mad-scientist joy! ;-)

@@sparkbirdstudios Isn't it exasperating? We work so hard and then we find these errors. One time I had a ten second BLANK segment in the middle of my video!

You are an incredible, amazing woman. I can't wait to try this. Two questions: I have a gallon of clear school glue, any reason not to use the clear? Second, you mentioned your Polycrylic is gloss; any reason not to try Satin finish or even matte? I know they also have a flat version and a semi-gloss version. If the darn stuff weren't so expensive it would be fun to try them all! I believe I'll start with satin. Thanks so darn much for your spirit and creativity. Diane

I have no experience with the clear school glue. Are the ingredients listed? I'd be curious to know how similar it is to it's white cousin. Regarding the Polycrylic, very little of the sheen comes through. I was expecting a glossier finish than I got, it was almost matte - but a luscious, silky matte! I'm not sure at the low amount used in the recipe that we'll see a huge difference in the finish from Matte to Gloss. BUT! I've been wrong before. I'd start with the gloss...and once you have it, definitely experiment with the clear glue and please report back Diane!

Hmm. I don't know. I'd suspect not, since but I've only used it on indoor material. But it could be worth experimenting to find out. Of course not with anything that matters, in case it's not!

Great question! Honestly I don't kow as I've only used it to do altoids tins, BUT I just put two covered tins together and they definely did not stick, I was able to slide them against each other. Now I have them under a 10# weight to see if that "holds up under pressure." I'm going to try it on more paper and will report back!
