Last week, I visited a friend near La Platja de la Devesa del Saler. It was fun seeing all the beach, the snails, mushrooms and even wild asparagus growing in the area. It was supposed to be a Miami type of area during Franco’s rule, but the local rebelled and the new roads were taken out and it’s slowly becoming wetlands again.

Hey thanks for the info! I was always shocked that there was such a sleepy little town within such close proximity to the huge city. It makes sense that it has been a sort of “deconstructed” land because some of the buildings definitely appear as if they should have more of a “Miami” feel to them Great spot, definitely returning!

Nice! How are you liking Valencia? Those bike lanes are fantastic, some days I would like to try to take them to another city Ive heard that things in get more interesting as you get further from the city center.

@@comfortablylost6459 yeah me too. I think I'll try cycling to Cullera at some point. It's 2 hours and right along the coast I'm loving Valencia. I've been struggling with the heat a bit but all g other than that

Hello! Thanks for commenting! There are plenty of beaches along a strand of coast, this is called Playa del Saler, however all of the beaches along the strand are great. You can take the 24 and 25 bus from the city center and it will take you about 30 minutes. The main beach (Marlvarrosa) is a very large and fun beach, but if you want something more peaceful I recommend anything along the southern strand I’m referring to
