    Thanks for all the good information. I purchased an ECO pro 300 a year ago for personal use. It would be a big improvement to the cycle time to cut while the splitter is retracting. It should take very little power to retract the splitting cylinder since there is no load on it. You will need to modify the hyd ckt as the saw must run off the power beyond port of the splitter cylinder valve. It's great to see how well your machine is holding up with the amount of cords you process with it.

    Happy Easter! I love your channel and content! You might be able to put a larger gpm hydraulic pump on it with a flow control in order to use more functions at once ( ram and saw function together). You would definitely have the horsepower to run it with that honda

    I’m thinking maybe a 3 section pump so the saw and the splitter and the accessories each have their own fluid supply. Thanks for the kind words! Have a blessed Easter. Jeff

    I think that you should test carbide-tipped chain. A buddy of mine has run his processor "professionally" over a year without sharpening. But that is not skidded logs, they are harvested and forwarded as in never dragged on the ground...

    The only reason I ask is because it happened to my Eco pro with 12 hours on it…..I know some of the fault was mine because I was putting blocks of oak in the splitter that would not fit through the saw …but I think that is a weak point in this processor …I was sent a new processor and now I put a strip of metal between the front of the axe and the hydrolic tank to give the axe some thing to wear on…..besides that problem I think it a great processor 👍

    Nice bike! haha. Nice upgrades on the processor too. Wish I had your mechanical skills and ingenuity. Also, I missed it if you mentioned it but how many cords do you split per hour with that processor?

    That is a great old bike, it’s probably the most ‘mature’ owners bike I’ve had in a long time. I feel like the old man I am when I’m on it! lol. That little processor is definitely better than making wood with a chainsaw and an axe, I’ve made a full cord, 128 cubic feet in less than an hour before, but plan on 2 hours for twisted gnarly hardwood at 16” long. I’m either going to make this one faster, or invest in a commercial unit this year.

    @@thelogfather5002 I have a vertical splitter that I have yet to use seriously. I was told I could do 1-2 cords and hour with it but I think it's more a question of having the right workflow and not having to pick up the wood off the floor more times than I need. Firewood people around here seem to mostly use Cordking..I've seen a Pallax system too that seemed nice. Posch and Rabaud are some other brands I've seen online but not in person. Wallenstein is probably one of the companies who approched you and I really like the company but sadly not the products or prices for what you get.

    Hi, I have a 2 yr old eco pro 300 and having trouble with the hydraulic saw arm coming down all the way through the log. it leaves about 1/2 inch uncut. it seems like all adjustment for the ram is at the end of it's ability. anyone experience this? Great video, Thank you from Northern Ontario Canada.

  • @thelogfather5002

    @thelogfather5002

    Common issue- I had to move the top anchor for the ram up a little and the bottom out a little in order to get it to cut all the way through the log, and still go all the way to the top of the travel. It took a bit of experimenting to get it right.

    I would've that that the processor would come with 3/8 pitch saw chain, a bigger tooth means faster cut. If I had that machine I'd want a in-feed belt up the the saw bar..........
