    Hi Jeff!!😀😀 I'm always happy when I see you have posted a video and can't wait to watch it. You are very wealthy man when it comes to knowledge of so many things. When it comes to business, mechanics and engineering of things I'm interested in and deal with all the time. If I were to need help with something mechanical you are one of the people who's advice I would trust. You always have great business advice for people. I've also been in business for over 40years years now. I've been doing mechanized logging for over 30 years now and have helped engineer many things on the harvesting system that we put on our excavators to make them work better. I have way over 30 thousand hours of operating excavator converted to tree harvesters and have wrenched on them. The only thing I don't mess with on them is the diesel engines. Otherwise from the bottom of the tracks to the end of the boom I have fixed it all at one time or another. Hydraulics are what I like to work on and with. Looking forward to seeing more videos from you my friend!! Take care and work safe!! TTYL!! Logger Al

    Good morning Al! I always look forward to your comments- they make my day. I grew up around sawmills and forestry equipment, there’s no end to the work that needs to be done. I love talking to folks of my dad’s generation and how they solved problems- made repairs that had to work or it was a long day in the woods with no production that meant no food on the table. My dad can fix anything- engines, hydraulics, electrical, you name it. It might not have been the prettiest repair but it made sure he finished his day’s work! Thanks again for watching, Cheers, Jeff.

    Hi Jeff, I will be buying the Eco Pro 300 as soon as I can sell my Antique truck. I went to the USA distributor here in PA. And I want to buy it but need the cash first. For me I will be cutting about 5 cords a year, then each of my two neighbors I will split about 5 more cords each so for 15 cords a year most of the time the processor will be parked in the garage. Looks like a nice setup, my nosy criticism would be that 6 way, the gaps in between the centre knives would mean too many re splits (for me)

  • @thelogfather5002

    @thelogfather5002

    I like the 6 way for the variety of sizes, but for a customer who wants smaller sized wood I find I do have to re-split the 14”-16” logs that go through once. Thanks for watching! Cheers, Jeff

    By the way your subscriber Al Dredske, aka Logger Al, said to watch your channel when was thinking of grtting a Range-Road. He recently told me that I can get all small logs for this machine to handle of request it. So with a 6-way knife/wedge it would work well on most wood that I see. Be a one-and-done cut and split machine for me. The biggest obstacle for me is getting over the sticker shock of small tractors like yours. What model John Deere do you run, and what is the lift capacity at the pins?

  • @thelogfather5002

    @thelogfather5002

    2 жыл бұрын

    The 6 way knife is what I use 90% of the time- logger Al has been a wonderful supporter of my little channel! The tractor is the most expensive part of the operation- I use it everyday for something- It’ll lift 1200 pounds at the pins- I know for a fact it’ll lift more- but something will have to break if I keep abusing it. I think the ideal machine would be a skid steer with a grapple. Much better lift capacity and it’ll lift higher. Thanks again! Blessings, Jeff

    What level of firewood production do you think getting an entry-level processor like the Range-Road be good for? For me am only cutting and splitting on the weekends as am a truck driver the rest of the week.

  • @thelogfather5002

    I’d say the Range Road would suit just fine- realistically expect a max output of 5-6 cords per full day of operation. A little more if you have a helper and a live deck- a little less if the wood is small and crooked. Also if you deliver like I do- that time must be accounted for, my max day is 3 cords… ideal is 2 cords delivered and then I mill a few hours as well. Thanks for watching! Jeff

    Hi Jeff, I have 30 hours on my eco pro. I was wondering if that gx630 bolts right up? I see you had to move the kill switch and toolbox. Also any plans to increase ramspeed? Most of my day I spend waiting for the ram to return back so I can start cutting. Thanks for any advice.

  • @thelogfather5002

    Bolts right up- only using 2 of the mounting bolts though. I have 150 hours on that motor- no problems yet. If I thought it was going to need a brace- I’d make one up this winter. I’m not sure I need the ram to be faster- but I would like to be able to cut and split at the same time- that’s going to require a 3 section pump- with one section dedicated to the saw motor, on the splitter, and one to the conveyor and other accessories. Thanks for watching! All the best, Jeff

    @@thelogfather5002 thanks. I aggree with the dual function. Hopefully upgrading to the Honda will give me the speed I'm missing. It's not bad splitting spruce. But when I have big birch 14-16" I really have to wait for the splitter. But for the price it does a wonderful job.
