My Junkyard Miata Build 1 Year Later
Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары
This is a time-lapse transformation video of building a supercharged Mazda Miata from an abandoned wrecked car found in a tow yard to a corner attacking track car.
Please enjoy this video of me building a supercharged widebody Miata in 15 minutes!
A little over a year ago I purchased a Miata I found abandoned in a tow yard for $900. It was in rough shape mechanically and had crash damage that was not fixed. I am not a skilled mechanic and a complete beginner when it comes to working on and modifying cars. However, through grit and determination I learned how to transform this wrecked car into something that I can push to the limit on the race track. Taking on such a project to me, was very intimidating but through the experience I have learned a lot and it was thrilling to see how far it has come. There is still much to do in the future.

Uplifting to see guys who keep everyone else's cars going get the opportunity to work on their own cool projects and get to flex their car guy muscles. Old Miatas are pretty special for being easy to get and sorta cheep and...great fun. Nice man but if you do this again I strongly suggest you don't cut the tabs off when doing the fender flares. Cutting them off does 2 things on a unibody car, 1 it comprises lateral strength in the rest of the body panels that were cut and if your driving can cause the fenders to rattle and 2 unless you seal that opening water will get in-between the outer layer and the inner layer which will cause rust and rot. Rather than cutting them all the way off you can roll them into the wheel well then just seal by undercoating the well. Just an observation but other than that beautiful job 🤙🤌🤙
