Hi there. Thank you for sharing your journey. I too, am a second generation MSer. This is the least nonthreatening label I have, for the condition that has befallen us. My Mom had it too, and my MS didn't look like anything like hers. I would just like to add to viewers that may be dealing with this condition, OR think their having similar symptoms, (1) if you have only visited your general practitioner and they are trying to diagnose and deal with your issues themselves instead of referring you to a specialist, GO TO A NEW GP. Sometimes, doctors won't confer with anyone else and you need a second set of eyes to diagnose your problems. (2) when you do see a specialist or are waiting for your next appointment with the new doctor, REMEMBER TO ASK or write down this question, what should I do if my symptoms start to escalate? What if you're not available, what do I do? Do I run to the ER? What do you want me to tell them? PLEASE Give me a printout summary of this office visit, and what Plan Of Action I need to follow if my body begins to "misbehave" and the numbness or spasticity affects me in a new area, escalating to a point where I know something is Terribly Wrong? That happened to me while I waited for my 1st appointment to see an MS neurologist. My visit to the ER generated a diagnosis of MS based on my family history and the MRI of my brain. I had no idea after I left the hospital and finished my steroid treatment for the week, I would be dealing with an escalation of symptoms almost two weeks later. My GP was away for a month and the new neuro couldn't see me any sooner because I was a "new patient." I had to make an appointment with another GP that made the rounds during my stay at the hospital. But another GP called me and understood I had been admitted to the ER for MS. He said he would give me a new prescription for steroids to get my nervous system to calm down, but I still had to come in and visit the office asap for a follow-up with the any available GP on staff. That helped for a bit. But the symptoms were hovering and I couldn't wait for my first neuro visit to come about sooner. I felt like I was flying solo in a strange body. I hope this video helps others. Best of luck to you and others who are dealing with MS or some other undiagnosed condition.

Have you both been tested for Lyme and co-infections? There’s a movie on amazon called under our skin, there are studies that Lyme could be sexually transmitted, also they say that for the past 5 years not one single person that died bc of MS and had an autopsy, this person was positive for Lyme or co-infections. Since your husband was diagnosed with fibromyalgia, it could be Lyme. You need to find a LLMD and get tested for Lyme, and if comes back negative you still need to get antibiotics and get tested again 2 months later. I was first diagnosed with MS and ended up it was Lyme. It is pretty much the same symptoms and the mri kind of looks the same. That’s what happened to me. May God bless you!

Where in South Carolina are you? Please feel free to IM me on Facebook- Candice Bouknight RN- I am trying to get a diagnosis of MS; I have seen multiple doctors, 3 of my docs say MS but I need a neurologist to diagnose. I did not care for the first neurologist bc he too was impersonal; I think he just brushed me off. I have had a lesion on my brainstem for three years and now having crazy symptoms that are progressively getting worse. Every day it's something! And I feel like I'm going crazy. Thank you for your vlog; it is so helpful. You are just a sweety pie! Hope you feel good every day!
